Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends!  Wow! Beautiful babies!  Had pics taken with them.  Got to hold them. Darla is doing great!  She looks so beautiful - and happy, Greg, too! He's already changing diapers there!!  Good training!  Darla and the girls stay in the hospital until Tuesday. The twins don't have to be in an incumbater, they are big enough!  Had no sleep last night, neither of them. They need their rest!  At night the babies go to a nursery but during the day they are right there with them all day.  Wish she'd post some pics of them on Facebook, then I can put them here.

Apply God's promises to your daily lives and speak to Him from

the depths of your heart. Lord, the more time I spend with You,

the stronger You make my faith and the more blessings You place

in my life.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a
stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine
things but on human things. 'Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If any
want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take

up their cross and follow me.  For those who want to save their life

will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.'"

~Matthew 16:23-25

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

We were born with the Divine within us.  Living a selfish life can
hinder the Divine from being expressed and shared.  The celestial fire
has to be tended and fed so that it will grow into a real desire to
live the right way.  By trying to do the will of God, we grow more and
more in the new way of life.  By thinking of God, praying to God and
having communion with God, we gradually grow more like God.  The way
of our transformation from the material to the spiritual allows God to
work in and through us.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may tend the spark of the Divine within me so that it
will grow.  I pray that I may be gradually transformed from the old
life to the new and fuller life.

IN LIFE, WE ARE HAPPIEST WHEN...

A man and his girlfriend were married.  It was a large celebration.
All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony and to partake of the festivities and celebrations.  A wonderful time was had by all.

The bride was gorgeous in her white wedding gown and the groom was very dashing in his black tuxedo. Everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true.

A few months later, the wife comes to the husband with a proposal: "I read in a magazine, a while ago, about how we can strengthen our marriage." she offered.

"Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together."

The husband agreed. So each of them went to a separate room in the house and thought of the things that annoyed them about the other. They thought about this question for the rest of the day and wrote down what
they came up with. The next morning, at the breakfast table, they decided that they would go over their lists.

"I'll start," offered the wife. She took out her list.  It had many items on it.  Enough to fill 3 pages, in fact. As she started reading the list of the little annoyances, she noticed that tears were starting to
appear in her husbands eyes.

"What's wrong?" she asked. "Nothing" the husband replied, "keep reading your list."

The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband. She neatly placed her list on the table and folded her hands over top of it.

"Now, you read your list and then we'll talk about the things on both of our lists."  She said happily.

Quietly the husband stated, "I don't have anything on my list. I think that you are perfect the way that you are. I don't want you to change anything for me. You are lovely and wonderful and I wouldn't want to try
and change anything about you."

The wife, touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her and his acceptance of her, turned her head and wept.

IN LIFE, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed and annoyed. We don't really have to go looking for them. We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty, light and promise. Why waste time
in this world looking for the bad, disappointing or annoying when we can look around us, and see the wondrous things before us?

I believe that WE ARE HAPPIEST WHEN we see and praise the good and try our best to forget the bad. Nobody's perfect but we can find perfectness in them to change the way we see them.

   * We are not trying to condemn what is bad. Correction does much, but encouragement does more. "The blue of heaven is larger than the clouds."

May your grace make me whole again,
May your eyes make me see again,
May your words make me hear again,
Your song of love.

May your hands touch the poor again,
May your arms hold the sick again,
May your smile fill each heart again,
Through who I am.

May your birth make me live again,
May your death make me free again,
May your life make me sing again,
Your song of Love.

May your feet walk the road again,
May your voice raise the dead again,
May your will calm the storm again,
Through who I am.

Let my tears wash your feet again,
Let my cloth wipe your face again,
Let my home give you rest again,
In those I see.

Let me give you your food again,
Let me shoulder your step again,
Let me answer your call again,
In who I am.

(Hymn by R. Fabing S.J.)

Be Yourself

Be strong enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything.

Be generous to those who need your help.
Be frugal with what you need yourself.

Be willing to share your joys.
Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.
Be a follower when you are shrouded in the midst of uncertainty.

Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.
Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not stumble.
Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you.
Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.

Above all, be yourself!

"Let Me show you My way for you this day. I guide you continually, so you can relax and enjoy My Presence in the present. Living well is both a discipline and an art. Concentrate on staying close to Me, the divine Artist. Discipline your thoughts to trust Me as I work My ways in your life. Pray about everything; then, leave the outcomes up to Me. Do not fear My will, for through it I accomplish what is best for you. Take a deep breath and dive into the depths of absolute trust in Me. Underneath are the everlasting arms!"

Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
—Psalm 5:2–3

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, “Destroy him!”
—Deuteronomy 33:27
