Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends!  Tonight after Mass we went to our very first prom, a Prom for Seniors.  It was very nice, a nice chicken meal, followed by old time and other music.  We danced a waltz and a shottish. It was put on by the parishes in the area, nice turnout too.  Confirmation students waited on tables etc. The meal was catered in.  There even was a drawing for the Prom Queen and King!! A lady at our table got to be Queen!

Sammy was so happy to see us when we got home - except for his cough he doesn't seem sick.

As we help those in need or comfort those in trouble, God's great love and divine

glory is revealed to the world.  Lord, I am Your servant.  May others know more

of You through me.

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a
wise man who built his house on rock.  The rain fell, the floods came, and
the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had
been founded on rock."  ~Matthew 7:24-25

Every strong and beautiful flower must have a strong root in the ground. It
can send a root down so that it may be rooted and grounded while at the same
time it sends a shoot up to be the flower that gladdens the world.  Both
growths are necessary.  Without a strong root, it would soon wither.  The
higher the growth upward, the deeper must be the rooting.  My life cannot
flower into success and helpfulness unless it is rooted in a strong faith. I
can feel deeply secure in the goodness and purpose of the universe.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that my life may be deeply rooted in faith.  I pray that I may feel
deeply secure.

God Broadmindedness

A young convert approached his pastor with a question. "How can God, who is
good, forgive a sinner? Isn't he repulsed by all the hatred and jealousy
that fills people?"

The pastor looked warmly at this young, enthusiastic friend and said, "You
are the third generation in a family of master furniture makers. Tell me, if
a fine table that your grandfather had made was scratched, would you throw
it away?" "Of course not!" the young man exclaimed. "A scratch can hardly
change the character of a fine piece of furniture."

"And," the pastor continued, "if you nicked a well-crafted oak table, would
you toss it away?" "Throw it away? No way!" reacted the young man. "Even
with a few scratches, quality furniture is sturdy and valuable."

"You have spoken like a true professional," the pastor replied. "You share
the same norm that God follows when he judges people precious and valuable
in spite of their obvious flaws."

And God Said

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, I know."

I said, "God, I cry a lot."
And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."

I said, "God, I am so depressed."
And God said, "That is why I gave you Sunshine."

I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."

I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."

I said, "God, it is such a loss."
And God said, "I saw my son nailed to a cross."

I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."

I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours is in the Light."

I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, "I know."

May God Bless You

May God bless you
With unspeakable joy,
Not only in the world to come,
But in this world also.

May your path be bright and
Full of light everywhere you go.
May God tell darkness
That it must flee at your command.

And, I pray your feet will
Never stumble out of God's plan.
May the desires of your heart come true, and

May you experience peace in everything you do.

May goodness, kindness, and
Mercy Come your way and,

May you gain Wisdom and
Grow in the Lord everyday.

Please send this blessing to those you care about.

It may be just what they need to hear, at just the right time!

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you; the birds of the air, and they will tell you; ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being."

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Glad you had a great time at the Prom Gloria.

I didn't go to my prom either, so something like that would have been nice.

Keeping Sammy in my prayers.
