Hello my friends! The party's over - and it was a great success!!! I praise and thank God for our Lori who really did a great job in organizing the whole thing! There were about 30 or more people there - good turnout! Needless to say I'm exhausted! The whole party was a blessing! Got to see my sisters again, and that was great!! Lots came up to see our apartment too. Now it's over and we can get back to normal! Praise be Jesus!
Forget the useless and unhealthy things of your past that clutter your mind so
that you can live a life that is alive and vibrant. Lord, help me to discard all
that clouds my day so that I am able to live the life that You intend me to live.

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
~Matthew 6:10

"Your will be done" can be our often repeated prayer. And in the
willing of God's will there can be gladness. We can delight to do
God's will because when we do, all our life can go better and
everything will tend to work well for us in the long run. When we are
honestly trying to do God's will and humbly accepting the results,
nothing can seriously hurt us. Those of us who accept the will of God
in our lives may not inherit the earth, but we can inherit real peace
of mind.

I pray that I may have a yielded will. I pray that my will may be
attuned to the will of God.
Prayer re Saint Bernadette of LourdesO God, protector and lover of the humble, You bestowed on Your servant, Bernadette, the favor of the vision of Our Lady, the Immaculate Virgin Mary, and of speech with her. Grant that we may deserve to behold You in heaven. Amen.
SECOND CHANCE
If we might have a second chance
To live the day once more,
And rectify mistakes we've made
To even up the score.
If we might have a second chance
to use the knowledge gained,
Perhaps we might become at last
As fine as God ordained.
But though we can't retrace our steps,
However stands the score,
Tomorrow brings another chance
For us to try once more

The Car Battery
Beth and Margie, two teenage sisters, had enjoyed shopping in the large shopping mall. But by the time they were ready to leave, it was dark. Standing at the mall exit, they could hardly see the outline of the car, the only one left in that section of the dimly lit parking lot.
The girls were nervous as they waited, hoping a few customers would come along so they could all walk out together. They remembered their father's warning, "Don't be too late!" Margie shifted her packages, pushed open the door, and walked as fast as she could. Beth followed glancing from side to side. They made it!
Beth shoved the key into the car lock, got in, and reached across to open Margie's door. Just then the girls heard the sound of running feet behind them. When Margie looked around, two ominous-looking men were running towards them.
"You're not going anywhere!" one shouted. Margie screamed. Terrified, she scrambled inside and locked the doors just in time. With shaking fingers, Beth turned the ignition and nothing happened. She did it again and nothing happened. The only sound they heard was the key clicking in silence.
"Beth, try again!" Margie was frantic. The men were pulling the door handles, pushing at the windows. "It won't start!" Beth cried. The girls knew they only had seconds of safety remaining.
Quickly, they joined hands in prayer. "Dear God," Margie pleaded, "give us a miracle, in the name of Jesus!" Once more, Beth turned the key. This time the engine roared to life. She shifted into gear and raced out of the parking lot, leaving the men behind.
The girls wept all the way home, shocked and relieved at the same time. They screeched down the driveway to the garage, stumbled into the safety of their house, and told their father what had happened. He held them both close. "You're safe and that's the main thing," he soothed them.
"It's strange though, the car has never failed to start before. I'll check it outtomorrow."
Early the next morning, he raised the car's hood to look at the starter. And in one stunned glance, he realized Who had brought his daughters safely home the previous night for there was no battery in the car.
BURDENS GIVE US WINGS
Author Unknown
An old legend relates that long ago God had a great many burdens which He wished to have carried from one place to another on earth, so He asked the animals to lend a hand. But all of them began to make excuses for not helping: the elephant was too dignified; the lion, too proud; and so on. Finally the birds came to God and said, "If you will tie the burdens into small bundles, we'll be glad to carry them for you. We are small but we would like to help."
So God fastened upon the back of each one a small bundle, and they all set out walking across the plain to their destination. They sang as they went, and did not seem to feel the weight of their burdens at all. Every day the burdens seemed lighter and lighter, until the loads seems to be lifting the birds, instead of the birds carrying the burdens.
When they arrived at their destination, they discovered that when they removed their loads, there were wings in their place, wings which enabled them to fly to the sky and the tree tops.
They had learned how to carry their burdens, and their loads had become wings to carry them nearer to God. Burdens we carry for others may become wings of the spirit, to lift us into happiness such as we have never known.
Verse of the Day"Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—in peace because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock."
Isaiah 26:3-4
April 16 - Jesus Calling
I am calling you to a life of thankfulness. I want all your moments to be punctuated with thanksgiving. The basis for your gratitude is My sovereignty. I am the Creator and Controller of the universe. Heaven and earth are filled with My glorious Presence.
When you criticize or complain, you are acting as if you think you could run the world better than I do. From your limited human perspective, it may look as if I’m mismanaging things. But you don’t know what I know or see what I see. If I pulled back the curtain to allow you to view heavenly realms, you would understand much more. However, I have designed you to live by faith, not by sight. I lovingly shield you from knowing the future or seeing into the spirit world. Acknowledge My sovereignty by giving thanks in all circumstances. - SARAH YOUNG
And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
—Isaiah 6:3
We live by faith, not by sight.
—2 Corinthians 5:7
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
