Hello my friends! Hope you all had a good Saturday today! Ordinary day here for me and that's great! My Easter Lily is all opened now, looks beautiful and smells wonderful! Weatherwise, it's chilly out and windy. I haven't been out. My husband made a nice ham in the oven, now will slice it and I'll make some ham and bean soup. Enjoy your Sunday tomorrow, keep the Lord's day holy.
Success is speaking words of praise,
In cheering other people's ways,
In doing just the best you can,
With every task and every plan,
It's silence when your speech would hurt,
Politeness when your neighbor's curt,
It's deafness when the scandal flows,
And sympathy with others' woes,
It's loyalty when duty calls,
It's courage when disaster falls,
It's patience when the hours are long,
It's found in laughter and in song,
It's in the silent time of prayer,
In happiness and in despair,
In all of life and nothing less,
We find the thing we call success..

A Stone Among the Offertory Gifts
In southern Bolivia, Sunday Mass is normally
outdoors. The congregation sits on rough-hewn
plank benches. At the offertory procession four
teenage boys march up to the altar carrying bread
and wine, candles and water. One holds a rather
large stone in his hands.
When they reach the foot of the altar, they turn
around and lift up the offertory gifts for all to
see. Only one of them speaks, the youth holding
the stone. He prays:
"Father in heaven, this stone is also a gift from
us. It represents us and our hearts. Enkindle in
us a warmth for one another and never allow us to
become or remain hard like this stone. On the
contrary, may we continue to spread light and
life. We ask you to make us open to our neighbor.
Help us to improve ourselves so that we may
become good building stones in your Church."
After this prayer, the teenager puts the stone on
the altar alongside the bread and wine and asks
the Lord that this stone which represents us
humans and our heart may be transformed just as
the bread and wine will be.
April 2 - Jesus Calling
I have promised to meet all your needs according to My glorious riches. Your deepest, most constant need is for My Peace. I have planted Peace in the garden of your heart, where I live; but there are weeds growing there too: pride, worry, selfishness, unbelief. I am the Gardener, and I am working to rid your heart of those weeds. I do My work in various ways. When you sit quietly with Me, I shine the Light of My Presence directly into your heart. In this heavenly Light, Peace grows abundantly and weeds shrivel up. I also send trials into your life. When you trust Me in the midst of trouble, Peace flourishes and weeds die away. Thank Me for troublesome situations; the Peace they can produce far outweighs the trials you endure.
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
—Philippians 4:19
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
—2 Corinthians 4:17
