Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends!  Today's blessings for me is how my husband just takes over the cleanup after a meal!  Tonight for supper I used up leftovers from the fridge, some peas and carrots, some potatoes, some cabbage,  some left over chicken from yesterday, and put them all into a soup pot, with chicken broth and some noodles, used up all leftovers and turned out delicous!  Now my dishes are being washed and I'm here. Praise the Lord!  Another blessing, talked to Lori today, Darla is over there and those two daughters of mine are canning spaghetti sauce together.  How nice Darla is back home again!  They can have valuable sister times.

Apply God's promises to your daily lives and speak to Him from

the depths of your heart. Lord, the more time I spend with You,

the stronger You make my faith and the more blessings You place

in my life.

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a
stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine
things but on human things. 'Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If any
want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take

up their cross and follow me.  For those who want to save their life

will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.'"

~Matthew 16:23-25

We were born with the Divine within us.  Living a selfish life can
hinder the Divine from being expressed and shared.  The celestial fire
has to be tended and fed so that it will grow into a real desire to
live the right way.  By trying to do the will of God, we grow more and
more in the new way of life.  By thinking of God, praying to God and
having communion with God, we gradually grow more like God.  The way
of our transformation from the material to the spiritual allows God to
work in and through us.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may tend the spark of the Divine within me so that it
will grow.  I pray that I may be gradually transformed from the old
life to the new and fuller life.

God Forgives

One night in a church service a young woman felt the tug of God at her heart.  She responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  The young woman had a very rough past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution.  But, the change in her was evident.  As time went on she became a faithful member of the church.  She eventually became involved in the ministry, teaching young children.  It was not very long until this faithful young woman had caught the eye and heart of the pastor's son.  The relationship grew and they began to make wedding plans.  This is when the problems began.  You see, about one half of the church did not think that a woman with a past such as hers was suitable for a pastor's son.

The church began to argue and fight about the matter.  So they decided to have a meeting.  As the people made their arguments and tensions increased, the meeting was getting completely out of hand.  The young woman became very upset about all the things being brought up about her past.  As she began to cry the pastor's son stood to speak.  He could not bear the pain it was causing his wife to be.  He began to speak and his statement was this: "My fiancee's past is not what is on trial here.  What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to wash away sin."

"Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial.  So, does it wash away sin or not?"  The whole church began to weep as they realized that they had been slandering the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Too often, even as Christians, we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers and sisters.  Forgiveness is a very foundational part of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person completely then it cannot cleanse us completely.  If that is the case, then we are all in a lot of trouble.  What can wash away my sins?... Nothing but the blood of Jesus!  End of case!!!!

HEAVEN & HELL
Author Unknown

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said,
"Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. "

The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and
the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round
table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which
smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people
sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be
famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were
strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the
pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer
than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The
Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the
same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large
pot of stew which made the Holy man's mouth water. The people were
equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were
well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The Holy man said, "I
don't understand." "It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one
skill.

You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think
only of themselves." When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of
you!

PRAYER FOR ABORTED BABIES

Heavenly Father, You give us the gift of freedom to love and to follow in Your ways and commands. Some parents choose to abuse this freedom by destroying the gift of life which You have given to their offspring. Please forgive these people who destroy human life by aborting their unborn babies. Give these unborn babies the opportunity to enjoy You for all eternity. Assist me in being one in solidarity with Your little ones by taking to heart the words of Your Son, "whatever you did for one of these least brothers  of mine, you did for me." (Mt. 25:40).

Therefore, allow me today, Father, to adopt spiritually an unborn child and to offer my prayers, works, joys and sufferings for that little one, so that  child will be able to be born and live for Your greater honor and glory. We pray this in Jesus´name, in union with the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever. Amen.

APPEAL FOR PARDON

ACCEPT, O Lord, this appeal for pardon wrung from our afflicted and repentant souls, and in true sorrow for our sins and the sins of our relatives and friends.

We ask Pardon, O Divine Heart! for public scandals and evil living, for all who try to stir up disorder, for all who corrupt Thy little ones, for those who spend their youth and fortune in sensuous living, for crimes in families, the sins of parents and children.

We ask Pardon, O Divine Heart! for those who traffic in public crime, for those who lead and lure souls to eternal damnation by riches and corrupt literature, for those who excite evil passions by immodest fashions, corrupt plays and degenerate art.

We ask Pardon, O Divine Heart! for all attacks against our Holy Father the Pope, for all organized disobedience against Holy Mother the Church, for all weak and straying souls, for sinners who resist grace, for all abuse of the Sacraments or any outrage against the Holy Eucharist. Amen.

November 7 - Jesus Calling

"Worship Me in the beauty of holiness. All true beauty reflects some of who I Am. I am working My ways in you: the divine Artist creating loveliness within your being. My main work is to clear out debris and clutter, making room for My Spirit to take full possession. Collaborate with me in this effort by being willing to let go of anything I choose to take away. I know what you need, and I have promised to provide all of that - abundantly!

Your sens of security must not rest in your possessions or in things going your way. I am training you to depend on Me alone, finding fulfillment in My Presence. This entails being satisfied with much or with little, accepting either as My will for the moment. Instead of grasping and controlling, you are learning to release and receive. Cultivate this receptive stance by trusting Me in every situation."

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.—Psalm 29:2

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.  —Psalm 27:4

Well, since I had success yesterday with posting, I thought I'd take a chance and try it again!  lol  Hopefully all bugs and such are worked out. It got so frustrating after writing and then having nothing to show for it. lol

Gloria, I know that you are so happy that Darla is back, I bet she is too. Your soup sounds very comforting and yummy.

Its been a rainy day and I've not been worth a flip. I thought for one day I'd not do anything. I did cook supper though. It was a recipe I found on facebook just called, beef and noodle casserole. I ended up adding stuff to it so it turned out being my recipe for spaghetti sauce with elbow macaroni, baked in the oven with cheese over the top. It was ok. I'd just as soon made spaghetti.

This evening, my 2 grandsons were playing ball in the kitchen, even after being told repeatedly not to. Well, all of a sudden I hear glass breaking. They had knocked a glass, full of water, off the table and it was shattered into many wet pieces. Such a mess to clean up. The oldest one started to clean it but I didn't want him getting cut so I did it. l read them the riot act about playing ball in the house and dared them to not even think about bringing another ball inside. I sure wish this rain would let up! lol

My husband is watching th AL vs LSU game so I'm on the computer. I'm not a big football fan so I find something else to occupy myself with. If it wasn't raining, I would be sitting outside in my rocker. Sure wish this rain would let up. lol

Love your graphics, LIG

I've blabbered enough so I will hush. I hope you all sleep well and wake up feeling good. Enjoy your Sunday. May it be filled with lots of love and blessings.
