Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Hello my friends! Cooler out here today, but nice. Some kids were playing on the yard downstairs, and off the deck Sammy was watching them, like being entertained, not barking, just watching. Thought that was cute.  I cleaned and cleaned out some drawers today, and with Darla and Greg we went to the house for them to get all the boxes they need for moving, mixed feelings at the house, of course, even Sammy, who was anxious to get back in the car, he was done there! He sat out in the driveway by the car until we were ready to go.  Then we went out to eat with Darla and Greg, and had a nice time visiting. Please pray for Darla, she is so tired and works so hard at her job, please pray.  Prayers work wonders!

The gift of listening is often more valuable than the advice that we'd like to give.
Lord, help me to be a good listener and then help me to let others work things
out according to Your plan for them, not mine.

"I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and
that your joy may be complete."  Even a partial realization of the
spiritual life can bring much joy.  We can feel at home in the world
when we are in touch with God's spirit.  Spiritual experience can
bring a definite satisfaction.  We can search for the real meaning of
life by following spiritual laws.  God wants us to have spiritual
success and God intends that we have it.  If we live our lives as much
as possible according to spiritual laws, we can expect our share of
joy and peace, satisfaction and success.

I pray that I may find happiness in doing the right thing.  I pray
that I may find satisfaction in obeying spiritual laws.

Prayer For a Particular Soul

Almighty Eternal God, in Your fatherly goodness, be kind to the soul of Your servant, (Name). Cleanse him/her whom You have called from this world of all his/her faults, take him/her into the Realm of Light and Peace and into the Community of Your Saints, and give him/her his/her share of Eternal Delight in Your Kingdom. God, You Creator and Saviour of all the faithful, forgive all the sins of all Your servants' souls. Let them receive forgiveness through our pious prayer, for which they have always been yearning. For this we pray through Jesus, Our Lord. Amen.

THE DIFFERENCE

Winners say, If it is to be, it is up to me.
Losers say, I can't help it.
Winners translate dreams into reality.
Losers translate reality into dreams.
Winners empower.
Losers control.
Winners say, Let's find out.
Losers say, Nobody knows.
Winners are part of the solution.
Losers are part of the problem.
Winners are not afraid of losing.
Losers are afraid of winning.
Winners work harder than losers.
Losers are always too busy.
Winners say, I was wrong.
Losers say, It was not my fault.
Winners want to.
Losers have to.
Winners always make time.
Losers often waste time.
Winners say, I'll plan to do that.
Losers say, I'll try to do that.
Winners say, I'm good but not as good as I can be.
Losers say, I'm not as bad as a lot of other people.
Winners listen to what others say.
Losers wait until it's their turn to talk.
Winners catch others doing things right.
Losers catch others doing things wrong.
Winners learn from others.
Losers resent their colleagues.
Winners see opportunities.
Losers see only the problems.
Winners do it.
Losers talk about it.
Winners feel responsible for more than their jobs.
Losers frequently state, I only work here.
Winners say, There ought to be a better way.
Losers say, That's the way it's always been done.
Winners celebrate others.
Losers complain about others.
Winners are willing to pay the price.
Losers expect it on a silver platter.
Winners always expect success.
Losers always expect failure.

Not What You Want But What God Wants
By: Helen Steiner Rice

Do you want what you want when you want it?
Do you pray and expect a reply? And when it's not instantly answered do you feel that God has
passed you by?
Well, prayers that are prayed in this manner are really not prayers at all. For you can't go to God in a hurry and expect Him to answer your call.
For prayers are not meant for obtaining what we selfishly wish to acquire. For God in His wisdom refuses the things that we wrongly desire.......
Wake up! You are missing completely the reason and purpose of prayer. Which is really to keep us
contented that God holds us safe in His care.
And God only answers our pleadings when He knows that our wants fill a need, and whenever our will becomes His will, there is no prayer that God does not heed!

September 19

"There is a mighty battle going on for control of your mind. Heaven and earth intersect in your mind; the tugs of both spheres influence your thinking. I created you with the capacity to experience foretastes of heaven. When you shut out the world and focus on My Presence, you can enjoy sitting with Me in heavenly realms. That is an incredible privilege reserved for precious ones who belong to Me and seek My Face. Your greatest strength is your desire to spend time communing with Me. As you concentrate on me, My Spirit fills your mind with Life and Peace.

The world exerts a downward pull on your thoughts. Media bombard you with greed, lust, and cynicism. When you face these things, pray for protection and discernment. Stay in continual communication with Me whenever you walk through the wastelands of this world. Refuse to worry, because this form of worldliness will weigh you down and block awareness of My Presence. Stay alert, recognizing the battle being waged against your mind. Look forward to an eternity of strife-free living, reserved for you in heaven."

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Gloria Darla and your whole family have been in my prayers and they will stay in my prayers.

And how about little Sammy knowing that he would not be there anymore, and they say animals are dumb.

Blessings to all

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Sunday

Good morning,

I tried posting yesterday but my post just would not go through. Not sure if it was my tablet, qvc, or, just me. LOL. Giving it another try this morning.

Life sure has been busy around here, some days I can't get a thing done. Keep us in your prayers. Thanks.

I hope you all have a blessed day. My prayers are with you all.

May the peace of the Lord fill our lives and hearts.

Be still, and know.

Harlene, how right you are about dogs! They are really smart.  Sammy understood this wasn't were we live anymore and he was ready to go.  Now I want to train him even at his tender age of 11, to go potty on a potty pad for us, and for him, in our deck.  Please pray he will do this, the winter will be bad to take him way out.

This is what I miss our wonderful house, alot, for, besides alot of other things.

Thank you ever so much for praying for us!

Praying also for you and yours, dear!

Lucy, whatever is going on in your life, you have my prayers.  Sorry you are going thru something now.

I hardly post on my tablet.  I'd rather just come here to post.  But when Linus is on the computer, I check things out on the tablet.  Once in a while I may post from there, depends.  I have a keyboard for it, do you too?

Blessings to you this day!
