Hello my friends! Just got home now from being at Darla's. LInus was helping Greg with cupboards, changing hinges etc. We had pizza and she made a very wonderful soup I asked for the recipe for, it's Potato Florentine, and has lots of spinach in it and cream cheese. Delicious! Her doctor says she should eat lots of spinach! Had a very nice visit! Tomorrow Lori picks me up to go shopping at the Dollar Store for prizes for the shower. So far I think the count is close to 35 including all of us. Need chairs!! Between all of us we should round up enough folding chairs.
Do not be upset by events of the past, rather be upset by the time
and energy you are devoting to them. Lord, help me to enjoy each
moment by completely letting go of the past.

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y
It is good for me to help others all I can. Every troubled soul that
God puts in my path is the one for me to help. As I sincerely try to
help, a supply of strength will flow into me from God. My circle of
helpfulness can widen more and more. God hands out the spiritual food
to me and I pass it on to others. I need never say that I have only
enough strength for my own need. The more I give away, the more I
will keep. That which I keep to myself, I will lose in the end.
P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y
I pray that I may have a sincere willingness to give. I pray that I
may not hold back the strength I have received for myself alone.
A funny story tells about a old lady who was living in the village. She
had never owned nor even been in a car before. One day, she was
returning home from the market carrying a big heavy basket on her head,
when a rich man riding his car passed by. Kindly,he offered to drive the
lady to her home. She thanked him and got into the car with her basket.
On the way, the man glanced at the lady in the mirror, still holding her
basket over her head. Astonished, he asked her to lay the basket down in the car and rest. The old lady naively replied, "Oh my son, your car is carrying me; this is enough, I should not burden it carrying my basket too!"
What an innocently funny response!
We sometimes do the same with God. Everyday, God carries us during the
day. Still, we insist on carrying our heavy baskets of worries and fear
of the future, for family, kids, spouse, money, job, etc...
We are carried by Almighty Hands, watched over by Sleepless Eyes and
God plans our future. Let us then relax and lay down everything in God's
Hands. The old lady, if she agreed to lay down the basket, would have
to carry it again when back home. But the beautiful thing about God is
that once we cast our heavy basket in His Hands, we do not need to think
about it anymore.
"Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of
your heart."(Psalm 37:4) Have a wonderful blessed week - free of "baskets."

I Didn't Listen
I didn't listen to the Lord,
When He told me not to hoard.
I stored up all my earthly goods.
I even hid some in the woods.
I went out to dig my treasure.
Somehow, I thought it would be pleasure.
Some of these riches, I'd forgotten.
I dug them up. But, they were rotten.
That's what I get for tempting God
And burying my riches in the sod.
He said, "Earthly things you cannot trust.
Don't store your treasures where they'll rust.
Store all your treasures up in heaven.
You'll be rewarded seven times seven.
To earthly riches pay no mind.
They can't compete with the spiritual kind."
He said, "Spiritual riches, are all you need.

A bus driver was very friendly, polite, and helpful to every single passenger. When asked, the bus driver said the following:

A Novena for Peace of Mind
O Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You, hoping for all things from Your goodness. you make a root flourish beneath the soil and You can make fruitful the darkness in which I find myself today.
I adore you in all your purposes even without knowing them; Your will be done, not mine. May I be patient! It is so difficult to realize that these trials, heartbreaking as they are, can be turned into blessings.
Lord give me peace of mind, peace of heart, and peace of soul, as I offer You my thoughts, my words, and my actions, and yes, Lord, my sufferings. May they all be for Your greater glory.
April 8 - Jesus Calling
I am with you and for you, your constant Companion and Provider. The question is whether you are with Me and for Me. Though I never leave you, you can essentially “leave” Me by ignoring Me: thinking or acting as if I am not with you.When you feel distance in our relationship, you know where the problem lies. My Love for you is constant; I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is you who change like shifting sand, letting circumstances toss you this way and that.
When you feel far from Me, whisper My Name. This simple act, done in childlike faith, opens your heart to My Presence. Speak to Me in love-tones; prepare to receive My Love, which flows eternally from the cross. I am delighted when you open yourself to My loving Presence.
