Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!  Went to see Gordy downstairs this morning - had coffee with him and Linda, he's doing fine - has a heart monitor that the hospital is checking on. Interesting how they do that.  I see on the news how so many are affected by the snow storms - let us pray for their safety, and that they don't lose power.  Here we have warmer temps and sunshine now. May God speak to you in some way with the inspiratios:

It is much harder to see today if you are looking at yesterday. Lord, help
to live and appreciate each moment as I am experiencing it so that I am
prepared more fully for the next moment.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and
slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and
sacrifice to God."  ~Ephesians 4:31-5:2

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

We cannot believe in God and keep our selfish ways.  When we believe
more strongly in God, we begin to abandon our selfish ways.  The old
self can shrivel up and die, and God's image can become much clearer.
The gradual elimination of selfishness in the growth of love for God and
our fellow human beings is a wonderful goal in our lives.  As the
picture grows, we can reveal more and more of the likeness of God until
those who see us can see in us the power of God's grace at work in a
human life.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may grow in my likeness to God.  I pray that others may see in
me some of the power of God's grace at work.

Saint Faustina´s Healing Prayer

Jesus may Your pure
and healthy Blood
circulate in my poor ailing
organism, and may Your
pure and healthy Body
transform my weak
unhealthy body, and may a
healthy and vigorous life
flow once again within me,
if it is truly
Your Holy will. Amen

Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony

O holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and Charity for his creature, made you worthy, while on earth, to possess miraculous powers.
Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore of you to obtain for me (request). The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, your are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen.

SHOWING THROUGH

A little girl, on the way home from church, turned to her mother and said, "Mommy, the preacher's sermon this morning confused me.

" The mother said, "Oh! Why is that?"

The girl replied, "Well, he said that God is bigger than we are. Is that true?"

"Yes, that's true," the mother replied.

"He also said that God lives within us. Is that true, too?"

Again the mother replied, "Yes." "Well," said the girl. "if God is bigger than us and he lives in us, wouldn't he show through?"

I like that little girl's way of putting it. If God lives in us, then there's no way of keeping Him from "showing through". That's the essence of Christian living----living in such a way that people around will see God in our lives. (He'll show through)

Trust Him

Trust Him
when dark doubts assail you,
Trust Him
when your faith is small,
Trust Him,
when to trust Him . . .
is the hardest thing of all.

Trust Him,
He is ever faithful,
Trust Him
for His will is best,
Trust Him
for the Heart of Jesus,
is the only place of rest.

THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH

Recreation.. . Vacation... Holidays... These magical words describe
times when we can break away from our routines and obligations and get
in touch with our feelings. A sunrise in Cape Cod, a sunset in
California, the serenity of a lake in the woods of Minnesota, the
ancient majesty of
Alaskan glaciers, the thundering power of the waves of the Coast-- all
stir something within us and impress us with the natural beauty of the
world around us.
It's natural to feel infused with a sense of oneness with our planet,
a spiritual connection with the trees, water, stars, mountains, sky,
and earth.
Yet behind the awesome grandeur of creation there is an even more
awesome Creator. The connection for which our souls are longing can be
fulfilled by establishing a personal relationship with our Almighty
and ever-living God.
To make it easier for us mere humans, God reveals Himself to us
through the Person of Jesus Christ. We come to know the character of
God and His immense love for us by learning about Jesus, the totally
divine, totally human Being who suffered a humiliating death for our
sake so that we might share eternal life with Him.
The beauty of the earth will become even more meaningful when you can
experience it as the creation of our loving, omnipotent God. God is
more than a "higher power," more than a "feeling of oneness." Get to
know your Creator through His Son, Jesus, and your life will change.
You'll
find that the beauty of this world pales in comparison to the love you

will experience as a member of the Kingdom of God.

With a Little Help from My Friends

I was sitting in a train, waiting for it to start. Across from me sat a
small boy, asking questions as children do. He asked his mother, "When will
the train start?" I saw my chance and volunteered to answer. I said, "The
train will start when we start pushing." The child opened his big eyes in
surprise, "Really!" "Of course," I said. "Unless we push, it doesn't start."
"Then let's push," he exclaimed.

"Just a minute," I said. "The passengers are not all on. I'll tell you when
to push." I watched for the signal light at the station and heard the
station master's shrill whistle. Then I shouted to the boy, "Now! Push for
all you're worth." He and I started to push in the direction of the engine.
We pushed and pushed against the back of the seat .... and soon a contented
smile lit up the boy's face. The train was moving ... very slowly at first,
but then gaining speed little by little.

I congratulated the lad on his success. "We DID it! We DID it! Wasn't that
great?" he exclaimed. He looked immensely pleased with himself. He was
traveling in a train he had helped to start. I did not have the heart to
tell him about the monstrous engine chugging up in front. Eventually he
would find out for himself...

We usually attribute great success to our little actions, forgetting that
behind them all is that almighty unseen power called God, whose power often makes us look powerful.

January 22 - Jesus Calling

Strive to trust Me in more and more areas of your life. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties. If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations. Don’t waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been. Start at the present moment—accepting things exactly as they are—and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances.

Trust is like a staff you can lean on, as you journey uphill with Me. If you are trusting in Me consistently, the staff will bear as much of your weight as needed. Lean on, trust, and be confident in Me with all your heart and mind.

But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
—Psalm 52:8

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
—Proverbs 3:5–6 amp

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Well our blizzard has arrived. Now they are saying18" to 24".

We are supposed to get up to 36 mile per hour winds so there will be a lot of drifting.

It isn't supposed to stop until Sunday morning.

Happy Gordy is doing well Gloria.

Blessings to all.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

I tried posting this morning on Friday's post but I guess the tablet wouldn't let me. I kept getting some weird error so I gave up. Gloria, good to hear that Gordy is doing well. I'm sure they enjoyed your company.

Harlene, I thought about you when I saw the weather, wondered if it was headed toward you. Hunker down and keep warm.

We got a little snow, it sure is beautiful but not something I want to deal with on a regular basis. I'm waiting on spring.

Stay safe everyone that's in the path of the blizzard. Praying for all.

Be still, and know.
