Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends! Short here because my sisters are here and we're going out to a fish fry, we picked them up, so these next few days will be short, they are my blessings!! My almost 93 year old sister, Deil, and my 88 year old sister, Ethel.  They're here until Monday when we take them back.  So happy they are here and the love our apartment!  Weather is beautiful here.  Nice sunny day!  Praying for you all and thanks much for your prayers!!

There is a purpose for our trials and burdens just as there is

a purpose for the joys and wonders in our lives. Lord, grant

me Your  peace as Your plan for me unfolds.

"'May they prosper who love you.  Peace be within your walls, and
security within your towers.'  For the sake of my relatives and
friends I will say, 'Peace be within you.'  For the sake of the house
of the
LORD our God, I will seek your good."  ~Psalm 122:6-9

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I believe that God's presence can bring peace and that peace, like a
quiet-flowing river, can cleanse all irritants away.  In these quiet
times, God can teach me how to rest my nerves.  I need not be afraid.
I can learn how to relax.  When I am relaxed, God's strength can flow
into me.  I can be at peace.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray for that peace which passes all understanding.  I pray for that
peace which the world can neither give nor take away.

Carrots, Eggs & Coffee

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.... It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans... She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.... Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way...

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.

May we all be COFFEE.

JESUS IS MY EVERYTHING

HE IS MY SONG THAT I SING
HE IS THE JOY THAT A NEW DAY BRINGS

HE IS MY STRENGTH WHEN I AM WEAK
HE IS MY VOICE WHEN I SPEAK

HE IS MY FRIEND WHEN I NEED A HUG
HE IS MY LOVER, WHEN I NEED REAL LOVE

HE IS THE LAWYER WHO PLEADS MY CASE
HE IS THE ONLY RIGHTEOUS JUDGE WHO FORGIVES ME, THEN, ALL ME SINS HE ERASES

HE IS THE DOCTOR WHO HEALS MY WOUNDS
HE IS MY REDEEMER, AND HE'S COMING BACK SOON

HE IS MY COMFORTER WHEN I'M FEELING DOWN
HE IS MY ANGEL THAT IS EVERPRESENT, ALWAYS AROUND

HE IS MY PROVIDER ALWAYS SUPPLYING WHEN I NEED HELP
HE IS MY WATER, MY BREAD, STORED UP ON THE SHELF

HE IS MY TEACHER, WHO SHOWS ME WHAT TO DO
HE IS MY ENCOURAGER, WHEN I REALLY DON'T WANT TO

HE IS THAT FIRE BURNING DEEP DOWN IN MY SOUL
HE IS MY FORTUNE-TELLER, FOR IN HIS HANDS, MY FUTURE HE HOLDS

HE IS THE REPAIRMAN WHO COMES TO FIX MY STUFF
HE IS THE EVERLASTING FATHER, WHO IS MORE THAN ENOUGH

HE IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE, YES A PEACEMAKER IS HE
HE IS MY EYES, MY LIGHT, MY PATHWAY, WHEN I CAN'T SEE

HE IS MY MIGHTY COUNSELLOR WHEN I NEED SOME ADVICE
HE IS MY DEBT CONSOLIDATOR, FOR HE PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE

HE IS MY HOPE FOR TOMORROW
HE IS MY EVERFLOWING INCOME, SO I DON'T HAVE TO BEG, STEAL, NOR BORROW

HE IS THE MERCY WHICH HE RENEWS FOR ME EVERYDAY
HE IS MY TRUTH, MY LIFE, THE ONLY WAY

HE IS THE WARDEN, WHO UNLOCKS THE CHAINS AND SETS ME FREE
HE IS MY ROLE MODEL, FOR I ALWAYS LOOK UP TO THEE

HE IS THE AUTHOR, THE FINISHER OF MY FAITH
HE IS THE PATIENCE THAT ALWAYS TELLS ME TO WAIT

JESUS IS MY EVERYTHING, ALTHOUGH WITH MY NATURAL EYES, HIM, I CANNOT SEE
JESUS IS MY EVERTHING, MY EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING I WANT TO BE

JESUS IS MY EVERYTHING, THEREFORE, I DON'T WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER 25TH FOR HIM TO HEAR
HOW HE IS MY EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME, EVERYDAY OF THE YEAR.

A Prayer To The Holy Guardian Angels - Feast Day Today

Heavenly Father, Your infinite love for us has chosen a blessed angel in heaven and appointed him our guide during this earthly pilgrimage. Accept our thanks for so great a blessing. Grant that we may experience the assistance of our holy protector in all our necessities. And you, holy, loving angel and guide, watch over us with all the tenderness of your angelic heart. Keep us always on the way that leads to heaven, and cease not to pray for us until we have attained our final destiny, eternal salvation. Then we shall love you for all eternity. We shall praise and glorify you unceasingly for all the good you have done for us while here on earth. Especially be a faithful and watchful protector of our children. Take our place, and supply what may be wanting to us through human frailty, short-sightedness, or sinful neglect. Lighten, O you perfect servants of God, our heavy task. Guide our children, that they may become like unto Jesus, may imitate Him faithfully, and persevere till they attain eternal life. Amen

A Blessing from the Queen of Angels

Know That God Loves You

My mission on Earth at this time
is to reach the many
who feel lost or alone.
Don't you know that every
breath you take is felt by God?
Every tear that falls
is caught by an angel?

As you read this message today,
kneel and ask your Guardian Angel
to take your heart and
place it in the hands of Jesus.

Then pray simply;
"Lord, watch over me daily,
and light my path home to thee."

Your heart is now
in the safe keeping of God.

Thou art loved, thou art loved, thou art loved.

October 2

Never take for granted My intimate nearness. Marvel at the wonder of My continual Presence with you. Even the most ardent human lover cannot be with you always. Nor can another person know the intimacies of your heart, mind, and spirit. I know everything about you—even to the number of hairs on your head. You don’t need to work at revealing yourself to Me.
Many people spend a lifetime or a small fortune searching for someone who understands them. Yet I am freely available to all who call upon My Name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior. This simple act of faith is the beginning of a lifelong love story. I, the Lover of your soul, understand you perfectly and love you eternally.

“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” —Luke 12:7

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. —John 1:12

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:13

      Good 'day' to you, gloriajean,

I have read through today's inspirational quotes, messages and thoughts. I have selected more than four that I am copying to create for my homemade Christmas cards. All are words of such strong wisdom, so delicately said to bring closeness to the most -of the ones lost in hopelessness, fulfill the bitterness, shine light where darkness was always felt.

The one sentence, I know is true:  The happiest people are those who have the least or make the best of what little they have.

Of course this is not exactly as you have written but true to my experiences while traveling throughout the world. I did witness pure poverty. Those were the happiest SMILES that I have ever seen...nothing in this county could ever be duplicated, if 'TRIED'.

     With few exceptions.......
