Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends!  Back now from taking Deil back home - very nice day today - in the 70's!! Love the warmer weather!  Before taking her home, we stopped at Darla's house and brought more things over to her that was left here, and she showed us all the gifts and cards, also Greg put her latest ultra sound cd on the TV, so we all got to see it, it was very good and interesting. Long legs they have!!   Now it's my birthday week - We'll get getting together the girls on Thursday for lunch so far!  Wishing you all a very blessed week!

As we help those in need or comfort those in trouble, God's great love and divine

glory is revealed to the world.  Lord, I am Your servant.  May others know more

of You through me.

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a
wise man who built his house on rock.  The rain fell, the floods came, and
the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had
been founded on rock."  ~Matthew 7:24-25

Every strong and beautiful flower must have a strong root in the ground. It
can send a root down so that it may be rooted and grounded while at the same
time it sends a shoot up to be the flower that gladdens the world.  Both
growths are necessary.  Without a strong root, it would soon wither.  The
higher the growth upward, the deeper must be the rooting.  My life cannot
flower into success and helpfulness unless it is rooted in a strong faith. I
can feel deeply secure in the goodness and purpose of the universe.

I pray that my life may be deeply rooted in faith.  I pray that I may feel
deeply secure.

A Prayer for Guidance

Lord I stand before you with a heavy heart,
I don’t have all the answers,
I am turning to you for guidance.

I want to be happy and healthy,
not if it offends you.
I want to know I am making the right decisions,
decisions that will not hurt you.

I am human and know I make mistakes,
I am human and know I am weak.
Allow me to gain strength from you.
I am asking for help.

Give me the strength to fight for what is important.
Give me the strength to help people as they help me.
Help me to see right from wrong through the trials of my life.
Never let me just give up on myself.

Forgive me for my mistakes and failures,
know I am trying to be the best and strongest person I can.
Never let me quit! ´

Amen.

ANGELS IN THE ALLEY

A young Christian university student, was home for the summer. She had
gone to visit some friends one evening and the time passed quickly as
each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up
staying longer than she had planned and had to walk home alone. But she
wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few
blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked
"God" to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley,
which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However,
halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though
he were waiting for her.

She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for "God's" protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped around
her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached
the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home
safely.

The following day, she read in the paper that a young girl had been
raped in the same alley, just twenty minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been
her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help
this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she
could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked
her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could
identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had
seen in the alley the night before.

When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down
and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if
there was anything they could do for her, she asked if they would ask
the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked
her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't
alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."

Moral of the story? Don't underestimate the power of Prayer

THE LESSON OF THE COFFEE BEAN
Author Unknown

A daughter complained to her father about how hard things were for
her."As soon as I solve one problem," she said, "another one comes up.
I'm tired of struggling."

Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen where he filled three pots
with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to a
boil. In one he placed carrots, in the second, eggs, and in the last,
ground coffee beans. He let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

The daughter impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing. After a
while, he went over and turned off the burners. He fished out the
carrots and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs out and placed
them a bowl. He poured the coffee into a bowl. Turning to her he
asked, "Darling, what do you see?"

"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

He brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and
noted that they were soft. He then asked her to take an egg and break
it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. She smiled, as she tasted its
rich flavor.

She asked, "What does it mean, Father?" He explained that each of them
had faced the same adversity -- boiling water -- but each reacted
differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, but
after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became
weak.

The egg was fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid
interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside
hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. By being in the boiling
water, they changed the water.

He asked his daughter, "When adversity knocks on your door, which are
you?"

"HOW TO BE UNHAPPY"

It's not that we want to be unhappy, but don't we  do a lot of these things? This is a good thing to read and  reread-- behaviors to avoid!

Make little things bother you. Don't  just let them, MAKE them.

Lose your perspective on things and keep  it lost: don't put first things first.

Get yourself a good worry,  one about which you cannot do anything.

Be a perfectionist, which  means not that you work hard to do your best, but that you condemn yourself  and others for not achieving perfection.

Be right. Be always right.  Be the only one who is always right, and be rigid in your  rightness.

Don't trust or believe people, or accept them at anything  but their worst and weakest. Be suspicious.
Insist that others always have  hidden motives.

Always compare yourself unfavorably to others.  This guarantees instant misery.

Take personally everything that  happens to you.

Don't give yourself whole-heartedly to anyone or anything.

Dear Lord,
I know you're watching over me
And I'm feeling truly blessed
For no matter what I pray for
You always know what's best!

I have this circle of E-mail friends,
Who mean the world to me;
Some days I "send" and "send,"
At other times, I let them be.

I am so blessed to have these friends,
With whom I've grown so close;
So this little poem I dedicate to them,
Because to me they are the "Most"!

When I see each name download,
And view the message they've sent;
I know they've thought of me that day,
And "well wishes" were their intent.

So to you, my friends, I would like to say,
Thank you for being a part;
Of all my daily contacts,
This comes right from my heart.

God bless you  is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until we write again.

April 17  - Jesus Calling

I am training you in steadiness. Too many things interrupt your awareness of Me. I know that you live in a world of sight and sound, but you must not be a slave to those stimuli. Awareness of Me can continue in all circumstances, no matter what happens. This is the steadiness I desire for you.

Don’t let unexpected events throw you off course. Rather, respond calmly and confidently, remembering that I am with you. As soon as something grabs your attention, talk with Me about it. Thus I share your joys and your problems; I help you cope with whatever is before you. This is how I live in you and work through you. This is the way of Peace.

He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
—Psalm 112:7

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
—Isaiah 41:10

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello Gloria and all my friends here.  It is going to be another nice day today.  I have an eye appointment that my church friend is taking me to today.  Wish me well please.

Here is a verse from a card I received from the St. Barbara's Catholic Church.  They still pray for me they say:

"I will put my trust in You O Lord, You are my God.  Make Your face shine upon me in You love.  Blesses be the Lord for His wonderful love!  He has stregthed my heart   psalm 31:15-17, 22.....

Live in love as Christ loved us.  Ephesians 5-2

Have a good day in the Lord today.
