Daily Positive Thread for Monday

Hello my friends!  My blessings are seeing your posts!  Another blessing with my husband taking good care of me as my hands are still sore.  Supper will be leftover soup I created last night, which was very good.  Lunch he made some sausage patties on the George Foreman.  Beautiful day here today, lots of sun, breezy though.  Nice day for November.

It is far wiser to ask God for what He thinks is good for us, than for what
we think is good for us.  Lord, Your Will not mine be done.

"I believe; help my unbelief!"  ~Mark 9:24

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"I believe; help my unbelief!"  This cry of the human heart is an
expression of human frailty.  It signifies the soul's sincere desire for
progress.  As we feel the existence of God and God's power, we can
believe in God more and more.  At the same time, we can be more
conscious of our falling short of absolute trust in God.  The soul's
progress is an increasing belief, then a cry for more faith, a plea to
conquer all unbelief, all lack of trust.  We can believe that this cry
is heard by God and that this prayer is answered in due time.  And so
our faith can grow, little by little, day by day.

I pray that with more power in my life will come more faith.  I pray
that I may come to trust God more each day.

PRAYERS TO JESUS AND MARY FOR MERCY

LORD Jesus Christ, eternal and merciful God,
Creator and Redeemer of all, listen to my prayer.

For the love Thou doth bear to those who ask forgiveness,
look on me with mercy, as once Thou didst look on Mary Magdalen,
and on Peter who denied Thee.

Look on me, Lord Jesus Christ, as Thou didst looked at the thief on his cross
and on every sinner whom Thou hast ever forgiven.

Look on me, merciful Lord, as Thou didst look on Thy Mother, Mary,
standing in sorrow beneath Thy Cross.

Let me feel in my heart her compassion for Thee,
and let my eyes weep for Thy sorrows, caused by my sinful life.

Call me back from the darkness to my Father's house, give me a new heart
and a place at Thy side in the banquet Thou hast prepared for me. Amen.

AIL, Mary, my joy, my glory, my heart and my soul!
Thou art all mine through thy mercy, and I am all thine.
But I am not thine completely enough.

Destroy in me all that may be displeasing to God.
Place and cultivate in me everything that is pleasing to thee. Amen.

My Prayer for All of You

When you're lonely
I pray you feel God's love.
When you're down
I pray God gives you joy.
When you're troubled
I pray you know God's peace.
When things are complicated
I pray you find simple beauty.
When things are chaotic
I pray you are given inner silence.
When things look empty
I pray you know hope in Jesus.

The Prayer That Changes Everything

Do you know anyone who would love you enough to lay down their life for you?  Someone who would die in your place?  Someone who would pay the penalty in their body and person for your mistakes and sins?  Some who would take the fall for you?  Suffer what you deserve?  And do it willingly?  All the while knowing that at anytime he could stand up and say, "Forget this.  Send in the angels.  I'm out of here."

I know of only one who would do that for me.  And He already did it.  That really takes thepressure off my family and close friends.

If you can't think of anyone who would die to save you, think again.  God sent His only Son, Jesus, "the image of the invisible God" (Col 1:15), the manifestation of Himself in theflesh.  He came.  He taught.  He displayed His power in the miracles He worked.  He laid down His life in unimaginable suffering and torture and an agonizing death by crucifixion on a cross in order to bear all the consequences for our errors, failures, and mistakes.  And then He rose from the dead and forever broke the power of death and hell in our lives.

(Adapted, The Prayer That Changes Everything, by Stormie Omartian)

The 5 Finger Prayer1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying
for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember.
To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said,a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach,

instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.
They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right
direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders.

Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and
administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public
opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact

that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It
should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in
pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too
much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which

is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As
the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your
pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have
prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into
proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more
effectively.

November 8 - Jesus Calling

Learn to appreciate difficult days. Be stimulated by the challenges you encounter along your way. As you journey through rough terrain with Me, gain confidence from your knowledge that together we can handle anything. This knowledge is comprised of three parts: your relationship with Me, promises in the Bible, and past experiences of coping successfully during hard times.

Look back on your life, and see how I have helped you through difficult days. If you are tempted to think, “Yes, but that was then, and this is now,” remember who I am! Although you and your circumstances may change dramatically, I remain the same throughout time and eternity. This is the basis of your confidence. In My Presence you live and move and have your being.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10

But you remain the same, and your years will never end. —Psalm 102:27

“‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” —Acts 17:28
