Hello my friends! Today was a good day weather-wise, and Darla's ultrasound was very good - the twins are already 4 pounds, 7 oz. and 4 pounds and 9 oz. They are doing good. She had her doctor's appt. this afternoon and the doctor is concerned about her - her blood pressure went up, too high from being usually low blood pressure, and she should watch out for severe headaches and vision problems. They are monitoring her and she needs to go back there again next week. Her husband will be gone for a week next week, from Monday to Friday at midnight on business. She got checked to see if she could have a pre labor, but no, not yet, so that's good. Let us pray that this little Mother to be will not have any more problems with her health and deliver two healthy identical baby girls. She needs to sleep! Let us pray. Less stress in her life, too. We pray.
Thank you all and God bless you!!
Two traveling Angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room.
Instead the Angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older Angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger Angel asked why, the older Angel replied..."Things aren't always what they seem."
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the Angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning, the Angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.
The younger Angel was infuriated and asked the older Angel, "How could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him" she accused. "The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let their cow die."
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older Angel replied. "When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it.
"Then last night, as we slept in the farmers bed, the Angel of Death came for his wife. I gave her the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem."
Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later.
Think about this:
Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight: just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic: don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work: think of the man who has been out of work for the last three months.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad: think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend: think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for $15.00 to feed her family.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror: think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking "what is my purpose": be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities: remember things could be worse. You could be them!!!
Should you decide to send this to a friend, you might brighten someone's day!
Father, You have loved us from eternity without conditions.
Whether we are beautiful or plain, rich or poor, saintly or sinful,
makes no difference to You.
Why can't we be that way toward each other?
Why do we magnify each other's shortcomings and ignore the good features?
Help us to grow in love, a love that doesn't gloss over failings,
but one that accepts them and then goes on to stress what is good in all we meet,
what can be built on, to help the other person become fully himself or herself.
Then Lord, as we increase our ability to love as Jesus did,
we will come closer to the kingdom He preached. Amen.
I will learn that true happiness is not always to achieve my goals, but to learn to appreciate with what I have achieved.
I will learn that I should control my attitude,
and not let my attitude control me.
I will learn that to be rich is not to have
the most, but to need the least.
I will learn that it is futile to compare myself to others, because there is always someone better or worse than I am.
I will learn that it takes years to build trust,
and a few seconds to destroy it.
I will learn that there are people who love me very much, but simply do not know how to show their feelings.
I will learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
I will learn that I cannot make anyone love me,
but learn to let myself be loved.
I will learn that what is most valuable is not what I have in my life, but who I have in my life.
I will learn that it only takes a few seconds to hurt people I love, and that it can take years to heal.

June 9 - Jesus Calling
Seek to live in My love, which covers a multitude of sins: both yours and others’. Wear My Love like a cloak of Light, covering you from head to toe. Have no fear, for perfect Love decimates fear. Look at other people through lenses of Love; see them from My perspective. This is how you walk in the Light, and it pleases Me.
I want My Body of believers to be radiant with the Light of My Presence. How I grieve when pockets of darkness increasingly dim the Love-Light. Return to Me, your First Love! Gaze at Me in the splendor of holiness, and My Love will once again envelop you in Light.
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
—1 Peter 4:8
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
—1 John 4:18
“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.”
—Revelation 2:4

Good Friday morning! Sitting here listening to the birds wake up and thanking God for all my blessings. I don't know what I've done to be worthy of all the blessings He presents to me but I'm very thankful.
Glad to hear Darla's angels are doing well and prayers will continue for her health, along with the girls' health.
Hope your eyes will get better soon before you have to get off the meds.
Prayers for nj's stress levels to remain low today, yes summer is coming! Our schools have been out for a week now and it's nice to see kids out all around the neighborhood. Takes me back to those never-ending summer days when we'd be out riding skates or bikes all day long; thankful that I grew up when we didn't stay indoors playing with electronics
Yep, telling my age!
Many blessings to you all.

Nancy - We have a heat wave here today! Heat Asvisory! And a granduation to go to at the park. It is sheltered though. What grade do you teach? Darla is through with finals now at the University. Now she has to concentrate on the twins coming and not get so stressed out that her blood pressure rises. Thanks for your post!

Carolina - None of us are worthy of His many blessings, they are His wonderful Gifts to us!! Here at the apartment on second floor, I can hear the birds but not see them. We had feeders at our house. My eye still waters, just hope these drops will work by Tuesday and it can heal. It's my right eye. It's watered for a long time. Praying for you all!!!

Gloriajean, I am a classroom aide and work with students who have learning challenges. Mostly, I am in the junior high and just adore the kids. It is extremely rewarding even when they can be little devils!
Well, my eye has gotten worse so went to my dr today and seems it is infected and is a stye. so painful but really praying the oral and topical antibiotic work this time. How are your eyes?
Working my other job tomorrow, tour guide at a museum. It is the house where Louisa May Alcott lived and wrote Little Women. It is so fun and helps me pay the bills somewhat.
I live in an apartment also on the 2nd floor and miss living lower down and seeing birds, chipmunks etc. I know my cats miss that too!
Well, hope you and everyone have a wonderful weekend.
Many blessings friends. Peace, Nancy

Nancy - take care of that sty! They can be painful. I never had one, but heard of them. Sorry it got worse. My right eye still seems to water, I'm just scared when the drops are over with, I may have to have it probed again and that hurt! Praying for both our eye problems. Sounds like you have a very rewarding job!! More power to you!!
