Hello my friends! Wishing you all a blessed weekend! We're home for just a couple hours, and off to Darla's for the night to relieve Darla so she can have some sleep. Sure hope she will be able to sleep. Hope the girls will not be crabby! They were both so good all day!
Worry about nothing, pray for everything, and thank God for His answers.
Lord, I ask You to handle my problems with me and care for my needs.
S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y
"'When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles
do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask
him. "Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your
name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of
trial, but rescue us from the evil one. For if you forgive others
their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do
not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
~Matthew 6:7-15

Prayer is of many kinds, but of whatever kind, prayer is the linking
up of the soul and mind to God. So, if prayer is only a glance of
faith, a look or a word of love, or just a feeling of confidence in
the goodness and purpose in the universe, still the result of that
prayer is added strength to meet all temptations and to overcome them.
Even if no supplication is expressed, all the supply of strength that
is necessary is secured, because the soul, being linked and united to
God, receives from God all spiritual help needed. The soul, when in
its human body, still needs the things belonging to its heavenly
habitation.
P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y
I pray that I may be taught how to pray. I pray that I may be linked
through prayer to the mind and will of God.
"If onlys" are lonely.
--Morgan Jennings
The circumstances of our lives seldom live up to our expectations or desires. However, in each circumstance we are offered an opportunity for growth or change, a chance for greater understanding of life's heights and pitfalls. Each time we choose to lament what isn't, we close the door on the invitation to a better existence.
We simply don't know just what's best for us. Our vision is limited. Less so today than yesterday, but limited still. The experiences we are offered will fail to satisfy our expectations because we expect so much less than God has planned for us in the days ahead.
We get what we need in the way of relationships, adventures, joys and sorrows, today and every day. Celebrating what we get and knowing there is good in it eases whatever trial we are undergoing. We are cared for, right now. We need not lament what we think we need. We do have what we need. We will always get what we need, when we need it.
I will breathe deeply and relax. At this moment my every need is being attended to.
Prayer for Peace
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
which is perfect and everlasting,
that our souls may radiate peace.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
that we may think, act, and speak harmoniously.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
that we may be contented and
thankful for Thy bountiful gifts.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
that amidst our worldly strife
we may enjoy Thy bliss.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
that we may endure all, tolerate all
in the thought of Thy grace and mercy.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
that our lives may become a divine vision,
and in Thy light all darkness may vanish.
Send Thy peace, O Lord,
our Father and Mother,
that we, Thy children on earth,
may all unite in one brotherhood.
Amen
Friendships
However strange or unique--
friends are given to us as gifts from God--
When a friend rejects a friend, they also reject the gift.
When we Thank God for a good friend--we ask him to guide us in that friendship.
Sometimes God sees fit to take some friends away for our own good and so they reject us ...losing a friend can be just as a scar from a sword or a burn--especially one dear to heart.
In my lifetime I have had many a friends but also many parted.
When a friend dies and passes on to Heaven we know that we will meet again.
A friend disposed of -- by meanness or hurt is never retrieved.
Those whom God has given the gift of friendship must thank him for that--whether short or long friends.
Many a friend I have thanked God for that I will never see again if they reject God and God's laws later in the future... there is absolutely nothing I can do about that but pray for them to return to God.
Better to lose a friend than to lose one's ticket to heaven.
Negative Emotions
When you harbor resentment, anger or
Bitterness, the person you end up harming the
Most is yourself. Negative emotions have a way of
Creating negative energy that destroys
Positive emotions, like generosity, love and joy.
Although the unhappy situation may be long
Gone, you may be allowing it to hold you back
By holding onto the feelings it evoked.
Today, vow to start "cleaning out" that inner
Vault of negativism. Try to forgive those who've
Caused you previous pain, and if you can't
Forgive, at least try to forget.
Break free ! Let go! Move forward with optimism.
It's the best way to find happiness
Appreciate What You Have
Today upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with
golden hair. I envied her - she seemed so
gay - and wished I were as fair. When
suddenly she arose to leave, I saw the
cruel braces as she hobbled down the aisle;
a victim of polio was she. But as she passed
-- a smile!
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two straight feet. The world is mine!
And then I stopped to buy some sweets.
The lad who sold them had such charm.
I talked with him. He said to me, "It's nice
to talk with folks like you. You see," he said,
"I'm blind." Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes. The world is mine!
Then walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
It seemed he knew not what to do.
I stopped a moment, then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word
and then I knew.... He could not hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two ears. The world is mine!
With feet to take me where I'd go,
with eyes to see the sunset's glow;
with ears to hear what I would know --
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I'm blessed indeed. The world is mine!
A Prayer For Endurance For Christ
Precious Lord Jesus, Wonderful Holy Spirit, Awesome God,
I praise your name, O Lord, for you have given me life everlasting.
I praise your name, O Lord, for you give me meaning and purpose when there would be only aimlessness.
I praise your name, O Lord, for I can feel the sunshine of your love within my soul.
When the people I care for turn against me because of you, I can still feel the warmth of your presence within me.
When the world makes fun of you and I feel anger because of their scorn, you touch my heart and help me to be understanding and forgiving
When I look at the world and the world blames you for the world's troubles, I can see the day of your return.
When it seems I am the only one left standing for you, embolden me, strengthen me, and show me the legions of others in diverse places who are standing firm for you as well.
When it seems there is no hope, show me the legions of my ancestors of the faith who wait patiently in heaven for the day of our great reunion.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely. Amen

Take care Gloriajean and hope all goes well for everyone! Thank you for the thread. The piece on If onlys was so good and again just what I needed at this time. Thanks!
I think I mentioned at some point my friend Ralph who had cancer and was suspending chemo, well he passed yesterday. The email from his wife sounded as if he went peacefully and surrounded by family and friends. He was home getting hospice care. My heart breaks for them all and my heart is heavy for all of us who knew him. He was a lovely man who truly loved life and people. I feel blessed to have worked with him and call him friend. Please keep his family in your prayers today. I know the days ahead will be tough especially for his wife Jean. Thank you.
Have a lovely day ladies and may it be filled with joy and peace.
Peace, Nancy

Gloriajean, I hope you get a nap in today. You are one amazing grandmother and mom! Your post is a special one today, and my favorite was Negative Emotions.
I was was sorry to hear about your friend, Nancy. Losing friends and family is so hard, and a small bit of them always stays with us. I hope you have a productive few weeks before school. One of my daughters teaches high school, and she's getting ready, too.
Such a a sweet picture, meallen.
It is still hot here with high humidity, no rain. I might be skipping my cemetery walk.
Happy Friday to all!
