Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends!  today we didn't get to the hospital at all,  nor tomorrow as we will be going to my sister, Deil's to help with some trimming of trees etc. We keep in touch with Darla and Greg about her and the babies.  They are doing fine, she says.  She got discharged today, but has to monitor herself with the headaches and BP.  She still gets headaches, but not severe, yet I wish she wouldn't get even the slightest one!

We are judged by our actions, not by our intentions.  Lord, may I show
my love for You through charity and goodness toward others.

~Matthew 18:20

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
When God finds two or three of us in union, who only want God's will to
be done, who want only to serve God, God has a plan that can be revealed
to them. The grace of God can come to people who are together in one
place with one accord.  A union like this is miracle-working.  God is
able to use such people.  Only good can come through such consecrated
people, brought together in unified groups for a single purpose and of a
single mind.

I pray that I may be part of a unified group.  I pray that I may
contribute my share to its consecrated purpose.

Angel of Mine

An Angel whispered in my ear,
An softly said to me;

"Go out today and show some love,
And spread good deeds from up above,

Tell someone who is hurting or blue,
That they are loved by You,

Give a helping hand to those in need,
Plant kindness, it's just a little seed."

When she whispered all that to me,
I went right out to do good deeds,

And during my travels I thought of You,
And decided to send this whispered message so true,

And let you know that you are Loved,
And thought about with Angel whispers from up above.

2. For the conversion of sinners throughout the world
3. For the conversion of Russia, America, and World Peace

I will repeat as often as possible . . .MARY,  MARY,  MARY. . . . .

July 7

O Jesus, eternal Truth, strengthen my feeble forces; You can do all things, Lord. I know that without You all my efforts are in vain. O Jesus, do not hide from me, for I cannot live without You. Listen to the cry of my soul. Your mercy has not been exhausted, Lord, so have pity on my misery. Your mercy surpasses the understanding of all Angels and people put together; and so, although it seems to me that You do not hear me, I put my trust in the ocean of Your mercy, and I know that my hope will not be deceived.      (69)

SLOW DOWN THERAPY

Slow down; God is still in heaven. You are not responsible
for doing it all yourself, right now.

Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there.
Each moment has richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it's OK to
tell them they're pushing.

Take nothing for granted: watch water flow, the corn grow,
the leaves blow, your neighbor mow.

Taste your food. God gives it to delight as well as to
nourish.

Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set. They
are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement, not
their speed.

Quit planning how you're going to use what you know, learn,
or possess. God's gifts just are; be grateful and their
purpose will be clear.

When you talk with someone, don't think about what you'll
say next. Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

Talk and play with children. It will bring out the unhurried
little person inside you.

Create a place in your home...at your work...in your heart...
where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.

Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive. Rest isn't
luxury; it's a necessity.

Listen to the wind blow. It carries a message of yesterday
and tomorrow -- and now. NOW counts.

Rest on your laurels. They bring comfort whatever their size,
age, or condition.

Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't
measured by words.

Give yourself permission to be late sometimes. Life is for
living, not scheduling.

Listen to the song of a bird; the complete song. Music and
nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

Take time just to think. Action is good and necessary, but
it's fruitful only if we muse, ponder, and mull.

Make time for play -- the things you like to do. Whatever
your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.

Listen to the words you speak, especially in prayer.

Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as
leaders. There will always be new opportunities for you
to step out in front again.

Divide big jobs into little jobs. If God took six days to
create the universe, can you hope to do any better?

When you find yourself rushing and anxious, stop. Ask
yourself "WHY?" you are rushing and anxious. The reasons
may improve your self-understanding.

Take time to read the Bible. Thoughtful reading is enriching
reading.

Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed
and efficiency. The best musician is one who plays with
expression and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

Take a day off alone; make a retreat. You can learn from
monks and hermits without becoming one.

Pet a furry friend. You will give and get the gift of now.

Work with your hands. It frees the mind.

Take time to wonder. Without wonder, life is merely existence.

Sit in the dark. It will teach you to see and hear, taste and
smell.

Once in a while, turn down the lights, the volume, the
throttle, the invitations. Less really can be more.

Let go. Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do -- but
often it is the best.

Take a walk -- but don't go anywhere. If you walk just to
get somewhere, you sacrifice the walking.

Count your friends. If you have one, you are lucky. If you
have more, you are blessed. Bless them in return.

Count your blessings - one at a time and slowly.

July 7 - Jesus Calling

"Trust Me in all your thoughts. I know that some thoughts are unconscious or semiconscious, and I do not hold you responsible for those. But you can direct conscious thoughts much more than you may realize. Practice thinking in certain ways - trusting Me, thanking Me - and those thoughts become more natural. Reject negative or sinful thoughts as soon as you become aware of them. Don't try to hide them from Me; confess them and leave them with Me. Go on your way lightheartedly. This method of controlling your thoughts will keep your mind in My Presence and your feet on the path of Peace."

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
—Psalm 20:7

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
—1 John 1:9

“To shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

First week of summer school completed and all went well.  5 students in the class, and all are on the autism spectrum so never the same day in a row.  Great kids and fun so the week went well.  Now, off to the museum today for something completely different.  Must switch my mind for that.  I think that is why I love both jobs so much. They are different and I use different pieces of me so I rarely get bored if at all!  Not sure which I love more but they each feed my soul in different ways.

Glad Darla is coming home and I pray she feels better each day and that the girls come home soon!  Many blessings!

Hope you all have a wonderful day filled with those ordinary miracles that surround us and give us joy and blessings.  Take care of yourselves and be happy!

Peace,Nancy

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

I really liked "Slowdown Therapy" today. It is so important in these times we are living.  There were so many good suggestions, and two were ones I already do. I love night skies and breezes and hope those are things I can enjoy in heaven!

The last one reminded me of the hymn "Count Your Many Blessings."

Thanks for taking time to post this thread. It sounds like you have been busy with family lately, especially with your daughter and sweet babies. Prayers for all!
