Re: Counting My Blessings!

[ Edited ]

Hi, gloriajean....just dropped in to say hi. It's s good to see you. I've had quite a year and just thankful to have lived through it!  My dad is with the Lord now and mom is doing well. She misses him. They were married 69 yrs.  She keeps busy. The twins are precious. My grandson  got married a couple of months ago and the woman he married has a 4 yr. old little boy so I am a great-grandma now!  He is our newest blessing.   We love having a small child around again.  They keep you young!

Hello Jubilant!  You've had quite a year!!  I did too, so far, beginning of the year we lost Sammy, our cute little dog and how we miss him! He's the one who played the piano!  Then I had bleeding in the stomach, hospitalized 4 days until my hemoglobin got up there, it was down to 6.7. After that the twins got sick and I got their cold and pneumonia.  Just got healed now of skin cancer on my face! So I'm good and healthy now again.  Nice seeing you!

Puddles - thanks for the Anniversary Greeting!

Hope you are doing okay.

After decades, I have finally learned to count my blessings and to appreciate each happy moment. My husband is in the very early stages of dementia, which means that we still have time to enjoy our lives together. We will have been married 53 years on 9/13. We have two beautiful, intelligent daughters and three amazing grandchildren. My oldest grandchild has a serious girlfriend and I am hoping that my husband and I will be able to attend their wedding in the future. My 95 year old mother still has all her marbles. We speak every day. I have wonderful friends who live far from me but with the wonders of technology, those thousands of miles can be overcome. Like every other septegenarian, I have had mynshare of problems but, all-in-all, I have been blessed.

***********   I seem to remember about your little dog when I was thinking about doing the other forum, too.  I think I saw his picture there.. He was adorable. So sorry for your loss. I just had too much going on in my life to support two forums.  Sorry to hear you've had some health problems but glad to hear you're doing well now. My DH had skin cancer on his nose.  The Mohs procedure didn't work on him so he had to go to a plastic surgeon.  I am trying to avoid an operation if I can.  Have not been feeling up to par for some time now.  I am home much of the time and trying to recover from an exhausting year.   I wrote a note some time ago thanking those who tried to help me on "the other side". I hope everyone saw it because I really did appreciate everyone's efforts but it just wasn't to be.  So glad to see some of you back as I have missed you all.

QVC sells a tunic with those very words "Count Your Blessings" which I enjoy wearing.
