@San Antonio Gal

She said before she dropped it "are you ready for this" in terms of durability.

When shattered she just looked shocked and said Ahhhhh and David said not that one, not that one ha.  Like that one wasn't very durable.

Jen then started laughing.  They moved on quickly.

I felt bad for her. I have Corellle dinnerware and have had only one piece break. I think that if it's dropped and hits a certain spot, that's when it will shatter.

The price of that set of Corelle is really good.

Of course the durability refers to normal wear and tear and being "chip resistant" when banged around with typical everyday use.

Flinging to the floor was a bad idea; I bet they won't use that demonstration again.

Item #H515118, Corelle 16-Pc Service for 4 Vitrelle Dinnerware Set. I felt sorry for Jennifer, too. She and David handled the situation well.

Here is Jennifer holding the white plate getting ready to drop it:

After dropping the plate, Jennifer let out a polite scream of surprise, then QVC quickly moved to a presentation of a different item, carbon monoxide detector, I think:

Uh-oh. How awkward. I’m guessing she won’t try that again.

I just recently dropped a Corelle plate that had a little food on it when I was setting on the counter. It broke into many little pieces and chards. Was awful to clean up and didn’t want any bits left to step on. They are not unbreakable.

How upsetting for Jennifer.  When Corelle first came out, a relative was going on and on about how great they were (unbreakable), and did the same thing.  Later, I purchased them, and have never had that problem, but I never deliberately dropped them on the floor.

I don't know why she would do that on live TV.  I have Corelle and I accidently dropped a dinner plate and depending on how it hits, they shatter into teeny, tiny slivers ALL OVER the floor!  Microscopic slivers!

I have several pieces and I like it. It's light weight and is durable. They should have tested one before the show. Now it won't sell. I bought a set at a thrift shop for $8. Brand new. Callaway pattern with ivy.

That’s exactly what happened to me, as I mentioned above. I couldn’t believe how many tiny pieces went flying.
