Jennifer Kovich was presenting a Corelle dinnerware set explaining that it is glass but sturdy.

She took a dinner plate and dropped it on the floor to show its durability and it shattered into many pieces.

We have Corelle plates too but I'd never think they'd survive being dropped from a high height to the floor.  Maybe not chipped easily but that was an unsuccessful demo.

Ha!  I didn't see that, but what an "uh-oh" moment!

Many years ago I had a Corelle dinner plate shatter into a million little pieces and had the same reaction as she did! Love the way David responded and went quickly to the next product!

So what did she say after it shattered @rockygems123 ?

@rockygems123  I just started a thread about this on the Kitchen forum, but I deleted it when I saw you had already introduced the subject.

I felt so bad for Jennifer. I have dropped my Corelle plates in the past and they have not broken. I don't know what happened. But they surely did move on quite quickly.

That was hysterical!  Jennifer was stunned!

Gotta love live television.

We had Corelle as our first dishes in our university apartment.  They were ok, but we never really liked them because of the way flatware felt on them--like being on glass, which they are.  They were good for then, but boy did they shatter when they hit the tile floor!!  Yikes.

First house--dishes were the first things we bought.  Dansk as I remember.

@embgm

Thinking maybe they moved on quicker than they had orginally planned for that Corelle set ha!

The price of that set of Corelle is really good.
