I recently received three bottles of sparkling wine from QVC. I also had some small Snickers bars that I had purchased in case any trick-or-treaters came by. Nobody showed so today I decided to take my champagne and Snickers and make a feast. I poured my champagne, opened up a couple of candy bars, and enjoyed the afternoon. Has anyone else found a way to get through the pandemic and the election?

@Vivian  You have made a brilliant choice!!! Champagne, chocolate, peanuts- wonderful!!! I, on the other hand, made a really dumb choice today. I decided to give my baby Maltese doggo a bath. Pretty much like fighting squirrels in a barrel. Now I am exhausted and he is pouting, but I drank a glass of Promised Land Whole Milk Chocolate milk so now all is good.

Oh I love the way you think Vivian!  Sure beats just having chocolate and a cup of coffee.  Think I will have to go break out the wine too...thanks for the idea!  I just might have to add a wee bit of popcorn with it, salt and chocolate, glass of wine - sounds like a winner on a cold day!  Bottoms up and have a beautiful day!

I recently ran across a suggestion of adding apple cider to champagne or prosecco.       The spelling is wrong, but the correct spelling doesn't show up.

Actually, strawberries pair nicely with champagne.  Of course, one could probably say Snickers pairs nicely with ANYTHING!

Sounds like you had an enjoyable afternoon with your champagne and snickers bars. Since I don't drink alcohol or eat candy my afternoon is much different.

As for the "pandemic and election"? The only things that have changed much? I cannot ice skate 3 times a week like I was doing before the ******* Virus arrived. Also do not go shopping like I have done most of my past years.

As far as the things you mentioned happening, I treat them like everything else over which I have little, or no control. I did vote, and other than that, cannot control the outcome. The "pandemic(your words not mine)"?  I cannot control, so what will be will be, and my life remains pretty much the same.
