Thank you so much, everyone, for your answers to my questions!  You are all truly helpful.  I am pushing 80 yrs and fear sometimes takes over.  I know I will have to listen and abide w/what my Dr says, but it certainly helps to hear from someone who "has been there".  Bless you all!

easy peasy process- takes longer in pre-op then it does in operating room.  they put drops in your eyes to dilate and numb them.  after the procedure you go to a 'recovery room', but really just to check your vital signs.  you need a driver 'cause they won't give you light sedation and send you off to drive.  no pain. i came to recovery asking to leave.  no needs. make sure you have the scripts filled for your eye drops before the surgery, so they are ready to go when you get home.  if you can afford the extra charges, get the multi-focal lens.  vision is 20/20 and immediately after the surgery you will be amazed at the brilliance of the colors in your environment.  the cataracts make everything drab and dim.  your vision will be soooo much better immediately after
