Do with these links what you will, but for some reason unknown to me, I got on the mailing list for this online publication I'd not heard of before.  But I clicked on a couple of stories and felt an affinity to what I saw:

HG, i've been a Kos fan for years,  He's really intelligent and provides a lot of facts.

This is great.  I'm so glad you gave this your stamp of approval. It means a lot coming from someone as sophisticated as yourself, @NoelSeven

I'd been hesitant in posting since discussions arising from something like this tend to disappear.

Do we have the same MD?  Mine said, maybe I should consider going vegan.  DD said I should have told him I rarely eat meat and the only meat I do eat is because HE told me to since I was getting anemic without it!

I eat a lot of veg, frequently three kinds at dinner.  We also eat a lot of kale, but I don't have recipes for more involved things, like veg stew, so I am looking forward to the new book.  Not giving up salmon, though Smiley Happy

Oh @NoelSeven I hope we don't have the same doctor as he and I pretty much loathe each other but since it's five minutes once a year we make do.  Smiley Happy

I was much better last year about my diet but this year I have been just terrible and need to get back on the better eating bandwagon as I have all the tools to do so . . . thank you for reminding me my friend!

So what is this kale you speak of . . . j/k! . . . Smiley Happy

@momtochloe

I adore my lupus doctor.  I am now pretty sure he's a bit of a health nut.  He's the one who told me to start taking Vitamin D, also. Plus, eat grass fed beef every one or two weeks.

He came into my room when I was in the hospital with that eye attack.  I was up doing something, holding the back of my gown shut.  He tsked tsked and said I needed a second gown to wear as a robe.  So he went out and got one for me, then we both stood there trying to figure out how it worked Woman LOL

I am glad you have a good doctor for your lupus @Noel7 and that you trust him.  My doctor was my mom's doctor and he's convenient and doesn't bug me about anything except that I am overweight (nobody is more aware of that than me buddy) so like I said we put up with each other once a year.

What a nice thing to say!  Thank you, HG

I remember when he first began his blog.

From Wiki:

Daily Kos was founded by Markos Moulitsas (Kos from the last syllable of his first name, his nickname while in the military) in 2002. In 2007, its parent company, Kos Media, LLC, began a fellowship program to help fund a new generation of progressive activists. About a dozen contributing editors provide content for the site, with three to four new editors being chosen from the Daily Kos community every year.

As of September 2014, Daily Kos had an average weekday traffic of hundreds of thousands of visits. It is financially sustained by advertising, with Google AdSense and Blogads.

After he graduated from law school, he moved to San Francisco.

Moulitsas currently resides in Berkeley, California, with his wife and two children.

Does anyone watch Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries?  I am just starting on the season 3 DVDs.   I think I am one of many who not only admire her spirit, intelligence, and character, but kind of want to be her.
