I love birds, particularly crows, and when the weather is nasty we make an extra effort to feed all the critters. The crows have been showing by the dozens....meaning we often have 50+ at a time.

But today we welcomed back a very special friend. . . 'our' eagle stopped by! So good to see him again, he or she was in the middle field so I had to enlarge the photo, but he made us smile.crows.1 2025.jpg

Eagles seem to be everywhere now after years of near extinction.   Someone photographed one last week sitting atop a power pole down by the Rio Grande in Albuquerque.

It's really special to have one visit your yard.

There was an eagle in a cow pasture just a few houses from us a couple of weeks ago.  I'm always thrilled to see one.

@We rescue cats   I also have a special love for wild birds.  Crows in particular are quite entertaining to watch and have a special place in my heart.

Many people don't realize how intelligent crows are.  If you watch them long enough you can see how they use that intellect to figure things out.

Thank you for caring for them.  Your yard is a bird's paradise.

@J Town Girl I too love watching them, they have such complex societies and language. There is a facebook group that is very interesting though I don't have the time to follow them.

Thank you, we love our property/

we have plenty of crows which entertain our cats who sit in the windows and watch and do that clicking sounds cats do !   Across the street in woods there are 2 eagles nests we love watching them , what wing span !   Also a nest in our yard in a pine tree every year .  It's far from the house we have a huge yard .

I do see the odd crow or so, but never a flock like this.  Different areas can be so very different.  Nice be given a tour.

Major squirrel baffles 😂  Those guys can sure leap from trees too.

@J Town Girl   I totally agree.  Crows are so intelligent.  I could tell you stories but it would take too long.
