That's another thing...I live in small town CT, and went down one of our "country roads" one day and thought I'd get hit...cars driving down it like a raceway. Too many cars, and people driving too distracted and too fast for be safe on even our small "quiet" roads anymore. You'd have to just stick to bike paths.

One of my brothers used to ride his bike daily on the bike path near his home but quit, it's just not safe anymore, too much crime being committed by the homeless camping out in the bushes.

I can relate, though, thick-headed as I may be...took me 3 falls to quit! I also stick to my stationary bike which I do ride, pretty regularly, along with walking and strength training classes. So, I'm active...just so done with biking.

It was! For the longest time I had a picture of my swollen, wrapped up leg from that night...if I still had it I'd post it. Anyway, thankfully, only the broken toe, and I made it through. I did have a family wedding to go to, two wks later...bought a maxi dress to cover my legs, and managed to get into a low heeled open toed sandal, and to even dance, just a little. Ha, oy, what a memory!!

My DH and I both have bikes, but we don't ride.  Last summer he wanted to buy electric bikes.  I told him we would have to commit to riding every single day and that deterred him. We live in an area with lots of great bike trails that are very popular, but I am just not interested.  It amazes me to think of all the money that my community has invested in those trails and the maintenance.  Bike riders are a big lobby.

I've always like those three wheel bikes.  

Used to ride them while on lake vacations at a lake many years ago.

I'm thinking of ordering one of Q's electric tri-cycles.   If they would give us two or three days to think it over when it's a TSV.......

We are very fortunate where we live with miles upon miles upon miles of intermodal trails for bikes, walking, golf carts, etc.  Golf carts cannot be on all of the trails but a lot of them.  Everyone is courteous.  We have electric bikes that allow us to pedal when we want and switch to electric when needed.  I am almost 68 and DH is pushing 80.

If you remember the Frasier episode where he rode or tried to ride a bike for charity and kept crashing into the mailbox and curb.....that would be me.

if I had to cite one of the top things I miss in my life now, it is my land cruiser!  I rode my bike a shwinnn or Land Cruiser all the time til I was about 65. Then knee surgeries and back issues wouldn't let me. It is the best, exercise and fun in the world of activities.  I woukd go 10, sometimes 15 mikes on weekends.   During the week I rode to do errands. On our smaller town I was called the Bike Lady, lol.  I miss it so much. I raise my first granddaughter on back of my bike. I took her everywhere from 12 months til she rode her own with me. We set out, went to eat, went to park, then went downtown to go thru antique. And junk shops. Still today you can't keep her out of thrift shops, and she's 37!,,,
