@drizzellla, Anyone stays with you because I bet you are a good cook and they like your company. If it gets to be too much just tell them that your brother has much more room. Take care.

If you are remodeling your only bathroom, then where would you go to shower etc?

missy1 - Not sure - guess it depends how long they will take. We had our kitchen remodeled down to the studs by one man. He did it in 4 days.
We have a cabin, go to my husband's brother's house or the neighbor across the street. We have lived in this neighborhood for 30+ years and are comfortable asking several neighbors if they would care if we took a shower. We have all helped each other out numerous times through the years.

If you don't plan on selling or moving for a long time I don't see any reason not to remove the tub if you longer want it. I don't know your age but when you get older you won't want to climb over a tub to shower. My inlaws have that problem now. I say do what's best for your family.
