Re: Awkward Situation Question

I've not refused letting a worker use the bathroom  I hate it though.

I make sure there are paper towels to dry their hands.  I make sure no towels, and medicines (Rx & OTC) are removed.

I can't remember which actor it is, but someone said they'd go to an Open House, also at friend's house go through bathroom cabinets for drugs.  It may have been Matthew Perry.

I have an idea for future situations.......

If you have a private porch or area in your back yard that is 'private'........

Maybe place a new, portable toilet and along side:  a table with hand sanitizer, toilet paper, baby wipes, paper towels, etc. Also bottles of bottled water.

I've done this years ago, when gardeners had a special tree trimming, and clearing out job on our property.  They seemed very relieved to see my set-up.

I'm used to emptying portable toilet's buckets because of various elderly relatives' situations throughout the years.

I always used to wear a mask and vinyl gloves, etc.

Hi @ROMARY   This was very nice of you to offer this.  Woman Happy  I can see where your other, prior experiences saw to be able to offer this kindness!   Woman Happy

I'm not ruling this out, but I cant imagine a situation that would prompt me to be able to offer this kind of generosity (yet).   I'm just a "big, bad meanie."   heh   Woman Frustrated  Woman Wink

BTW,  @ROMARY    I like your subsequent post's description of your nearby Mall situation also.  so kewl! Woman Happy

Re: Awkward Situation Question

[ Edited ]

The 4 small children across the street used to come over, often, when growing up,  Later, more so mostly the 2 gals.

The topic came up abt how they hated using their own bathrooms 'cause their 2 brothers, AND their FATHER, wouldnt raise the seats when voiding.  The gals hated sitting on their own "family's guy-made puddles."  I dont blame them in the least!

(Turns out, - Same scenario with my sister's In Laws, (& her own husband!), all those years of wet toilet seats, that she had NO IDEA why til much, much later!)

The neighboring young gals made their druthers known to the guys about Dry Seats, which landed on deaf, ambivalent ears in their household.  Even sneersWoman Frustrated

Okay!   The young gals & I engineered an effective system where the guys now, are forced to have respect for the girl's own desire for a dry seat!  And it worked 'til the gals didnt think they should *have* to do this "trick" any more.

"Okay, well, gurls, you learned 'the trick' that effectively seems to work, & assures you a 'dry seat' for yrself.  YOUR CHOICE, now that you've seen how to make this effectively happen for you."

I merely gave the gals "the tools."  Up to them.

BTW, the "boys (& their FATHER)" never changed their "beloved wet seat habit."  (.. and more   Woman Sad Woman MadWoman Sad )

Same family ....

me?  HECK NO! ..  not in MY bathroom!!

Re: Awkward Situation Question

If you are a woman home alone no, I would never allow that either.

Re: Awkward Situation Question

I haven't weighed in on this one.  I am on team no.   If it is #1, there are woods beside my home.  Thankfully there is a very nice convenient store one mile from my home.  Clean restroom and drinks and food.  I give them a hefty tip at the end, $100+.

Re: Awkward Situation Question

I am fortunate that my husbands shop is a separate buidling containing a bathroom.  If someone is doing outiside work for us for any length of time we always unlock his shop and tell them there is a bathroom and refrigerator for them to use.

Obviously if they were doing inside work we have a bathroom as you walk into the backhall.  No way would I let them use my master bath or main house bath.

Each situation is different and you have to go with what you are comforable with.  I am fortunate that now retired my husband is always home when someone does work.

    ~ ~ ~   WARNING!!  ~  ~   ~

Quite Descriptive here,

         so Im using SPOILER

Hi @Group 5 minus 1   Apologizing if my post was confusing or not understandable.  I'm trying to be somewhat delicate, & provide only details to my point, when describing this.  heh

If you're asking the "trick?"

Click on SPOILER below:

Spoiler

@Group 5 minus 1

In the case of this family of 5 - after the 2 gals void, they need to close down both toilet Lid AND Seat, (& flush, of course),  after each & every time

("Get in the darn habit, gals!")

The ONLY way "the boys" can use the toilet is to "exert themselves," and lift the Lid, & Seat.  Hopefully both, since I wld imagine even the laziest of persons wouldnt want to try to separate the Lid from the Seat, when lifting.

AND THIS WORKED, (in this family's case).

That is, until such time as the gals refused to create their own "New Habit," of closing down Lid/Seat, flush, after each use, in order to make their own, & the boys, clean habit happen.

@Group 5 minus 1   *blushing*  I hope this helps explain.  heh  Woman Wink
