Knock on wood but Geico has not raised our rates. We have been with them since we were married. My husband is well into his 70s.

They are an "additional" risk, so they say!
I have an old car, I'm 88 a careful driver. The idiots out there driving 80 cutting in and the speed limit is 55 or 60 depending. I drive the speed limit and so far have been accident free for years.
I'm with state Farm and have the lowest premium I could get, because they are not going to fix my car.
I pay 152 every six months. I have ins. on the other car, not mine and I took away medical. If I get hurt, I will use my personal medical policy.
It's the young ones out here in CAl. causing most of the accidents and deaths.
We old folks get a bad rap. When the time comes, I am feeling like I should not be driving, I will hang it up.

Does anyone have Auto Owners car insurance. Our agent wants us to switch to them to save money. Not sure it is worth it.

Auto Insurance, in general, has gotten so expensive! Our son got his license and we added a 4th vehicle (an old TJ jeep) and our monthly premium went up over $400 so we now pay $634/month! And don't get me started on homeowner's insurance here in California. ![]()

My siblings and I are all in our 60s and 70s, and our car insurance keeps going up too. I remember when rates decreased as your car got older, and only increased if you had an accident. Not anymore.
I bought my current car in 2019, and haven't had any accidents, and my car insurance has increased every year. I called last year to ask about it, and I was told that rates are up because the cost of parts, supplies, and labor for car repairs have increased.
I realize insurance is a for profit business, but, geez, seems like they're charging people a lot of money, and then they don't want to pay out many claims.

There were many seniors that came into our office who legally, because of their vision, shouldn't have driving but were anyway. Insurance companies have done this for as long as I can remmeber for young male drivers, so I am not surprised.
@KittySoftPaws. In New Mexico, seniors have to have a yearly eye exam to renew their driver's licenses. It's quite an inconvenience.
An eye exam every year is something all of us seniors shoud do. Catch any changes in your eyes early. Wish they did that every where. I always get my eyes checked once a year. No big deal.
I get an eye exam every year. I wear glasses and get a new prescription. Also, monitoring for cataracts.
