It is probably because I live in Florida. The heat and humidity is so unbearable that you cannot get outside without being miserable and then the mosquitos are just awful. From April to November is awful. Growing up July, August and September were the bad months but now it is a longer stretch. I wish I could move.

Hate might be a little strong but we've had a very humid summer so I'm inclined to agree.

I feel for ya aubegirl- I am not a fan of hot weather either but I live in New England so that’s way better than FL. Dislike the stickiness of humidity, feel like I can’t breath, constantly sweaty unless in AC, here it’s super buggy when I walk the dog to do her business several times a day. These bugs swarm constantly around my face ( its very wooded here). Ick. Last week I got stung by a nasty wasp while trying to garden. I long for cool breezes... ahhhhhh.
While I hate to rush away the days, I hope hot weather ends soon.

I don’t like summer either, for the very same reasons you listed. I think I hate mosquitoes and gnats even worse than the heat and humidity.

No! Summer in West Virginia is short, but wonderful. We do not have unbearable heat or long stretches of high humidity. I love the sun and warmth of summer.

I came to Florida for warmth and sunshine. My arthritic joints crave it. However I live only a mile and a half from the gulf coast so we get sea breezes all the time which make the hot summer much more bearable. Sadly, thanks to our wonderful government draining the algae filled Lake Oakachobee into our beautiful gulf waters, the red tide has bloomed and has made being anywhere near the beach unbearable.DH & I spend a good deal of the summer in the pool.

i am not a hot weather gal. And this summer, between all of the humidity and the rainstorms nearly every day, I have already decorated for fall, hoping to entice cooler weather to my part of PA.

I don't hate it, but I'm not a fan! I would prefer the Fall any day... give me temps in the 50s and 60s and I'm happy. If it has to be 70... then NO HUMIDITY! Humidity is the killer for me. I'm in the Northern Burbs of Chicago. It's been a toasty dry summer so far.

I hate summer too! I hate sweating and the heat just makes me lazy and cranky. I feel for you living in Florida, I just couldn't live in the south. Wish I could spend summers in Alaska or Canada. Hurry up fal/winter.

I wouldn't say I hate summer but it isn't for the heat and humidity. Since I hate being cold I refuse to complain about the weather being too hot, I only complain about the cold.
As a working mother I find summer frustrating because you try to keep kids occupied without breaking the bank. This was the first summer I tried to leave the kids at home alone during the day since I now have a 13 year old. For the most part it has been OK but I have one kid who becomes destructive when he is bored so unfortunately I get calls from other others about his behavioir. That child needed school to start 2 weeks ago instead of after labor day.
