I  have had that done to me also......BUT i understand that i spent a certain amount to receive the Kohls Cash and thereby returning the item the Kohls Cash wasn't valid anymore because i was credited for the item..............if they didn't cancel the Kohls cash everyone would buy stuff, return it and profit from the Kohls Cash for free.

I  had to return an item yesterday and when I checked my $15.00 Kohl's cash this morning it said I didn't have it.  I checked the date and it was still valid I am wondering because I returned and item I lost my Kohl's cash? Have you had this happen to  you?

If you returned an item, your Kohl's cash is reduced or removed if your original receipt amount is now lower than the requirement for Kohls cash.

Example you make a $60 purchase receive $10 Kohl's cash based on $50 purchase requirement for Kohl's cash.  If you return $5 of that purchase you retain the $10. If you return $15 of that purchase you forfeit the Kohl's cash.  They usually inform you of that at Customer Service.  If you redeem the Kohls cash prior to the return, the amount of the Kohl's cash will be deducted from  your return.

The Kohl's cash is just a ploy to get people  in the store.  It is not longer an incentive for me to shop there.  If I happen to get it great but I'm not going to Kohl's just to get it.  I worked at Kohls and you wouldn't believe the number of people who would spend extra money just to get their $10 of Kohl's cash.

When I have returned things I have lost my Kohls Cash. If you have way more than the value of returns I think you would have some left though.

I don't deal with stores that play too many games with prices and discounts.  Talbots sometimes gets on my nerves with this stuff.

Mark your stuff at a fair price to begin with, have sales and go have lunch.  I don't have time for the nonsense.   Not QVC sales, however, REAL sales!

@cuddlesmama If you need the number for Kohls it is 866-887-8884. Did your

return take away the whole $15. You can always check with them to clear it up.

Yes, if you return an item, your Kohls cash is reduced.

If you received Kohl's Cash for a $55 purchase and you return a $6 item, you lose all the KC issues for the original purchase.

Re: Anyone Familiar With Kohls Cash?

This happened to me just this week. I returned some household items that I purchased on Black Friday. It brought the amount below $ 50.00 and I had to forfeit my Kohl's cash. I wasn't that upset because I rarely use the extra Kohl's cash. I would rather have a 30 % discount or $10 off a certain amount at time of purchase. I rarely go back the next week or so to purchase more items just to use my Kohl's cash.

Re: Anyone Familiar With Kohls Cash?

@cuddlesmama

The way to get around this is to return the item without a receipt and ask for a store credit.  It won't cancel your Kohl's cash, but you will get the lowest advertised price.  Today I returned an item and I would have received $2 using my receipt.  So instead I used the store credit method and received $22.  The store credit never expires so you don't have to use it right away.
