If you just want to cuddle animals, many shelters need people to come and hold animals. My BFF is cuddling kittens as we speak. 😻

@QVCkitty1.  Excellent suggestion! Our shelter needs help with getting kittens to associate with humans, help with bunnies,etc.etc. Please look into going to cuddle these cute little ones.

We don't have a farm, but our neighbors raise black angus cattle and we told them they could put them on land we own that adjoins our house. I love watching the cows. I swear, they have a personality. There is a little bull that will come up to me when I am out and on his side of the pasture. He won't let me pet him, but he comes right up to the fence and watches me.

Twice this year, I have been out and seen a very newborn baby calf and momma, there is nothing like it.

My SIL grew up on a farm. She used to have chores to do before they went to School.....

@KitTkat Those calves are adorable! My Father was raised on a farm and it was hard work but he loved it and the country living.

I live on a ranch, not a farm. We raise Brahman bulls.  Lots of work out in the 105 degree heat we are having right now. Hay cutting and bailing keeps up busy, too.

Not all animals survive birth, along with other unpleasant things (like cows crushing kittens). However, that happens in zoos and in the wild too. The baby animals are cute and fun. My favorite task was feeding baby calves from a galvanized bucket.

@KitTkat.  Is that a Jersey calf?  They have such beautiful faces.

I favor baby miniature horses.  I've held them in my lap.

Both of my grandparents had farms in Iowa, so I spent a lot of time on both of them when I was growing up. If you want to spend timeworking with baby animals, I don't think a farm is the place to do it. ...your local animal shelter would probably be a better option. Farms are hard work and not a lot of time is spent cuddling baby animals (except for the grandchildren in my case)!

It is relentless hard work.
