I've heard the word sammies before, but what I've never done is bake a ham and slice it up only for sandwiches (that's what I call them...lol).

I like to dress up my hams with pineapple and drizzle some kind of glaze over it before I put it in the oven.

My family enjoys it as a meat (portion of a meal) along with potatoes, vegetables, etc.  The next day or two later they have it either heated or cold for sandwiches.

Usually they like it as a meat course again the next day.

I also cut big portions and freeze to cook as a meat (course).  Also, can be used for sandwiches.  A ham can go on for days and days....lol

@Luvsmyfam You wrote that "ALL of us bring some  kind of snack or  side dish."  I  thought you said you had "no choice" and planned to show up with "NADA."

The word "sammies" sounds like a word a JUVENILE would say..

@Q-Checker As I stated,I work til 2pm,so I won't be bringing any side dish especially a hot one.So a bag of chips  and pop for kids is about it

Am going into work, half day Christmas Eve.  Same as a great many as the business, corporate world isn't shut down on that day. Attending my family event that evening bringing (2) casseroles, appetizers prepared before hand.  You don't want to bring anything, prepare before hand.  Nothing to do with working.  Families with kids, work, tons of responsibilities manage such and a whole lot more.

@Luvsmyfam Wondering if you have any insight into the NADA statement you are making to your family and why you choose to make it? (Many posters have given good suggestions of things to bring  that align with your work schedule.) And why you choose to share this with a group of strangers on the internet?
