My mom's ancestors came over in some of the very first ships to hit the shore (probably the first 10 or 15--not the first three!  Ha ha!).  But they were British military and because of that their ancestry is relatively easy to trace. If your family has long history of military affiliation it makes it so much easier.

 

Mom's dad's family can be traced far back into England.  

 

Dad's family we really have no idea about his dad or his VERY Irish mom!
