Re: @AlsaceGal Check

@elated Apparently you didn't see my post about this just a short while ago! She did respond here. And it's funny that you posted on my thread and then a mere 30 minutes later you started this one. Very weird.

Not weird. You posted in Community Chat and she posted in Among Friends. I thought she might not see your post.

Just curious if you were able to cash the check. Haven't seen any current update. Hopefully, everything went well.

Yes, first thing this morning I went to neighbor's bank. I told the teller I wanted to cash the  check. After several question-do you have an account here, no.

Have you ever had an account here, no.

have you ever cashed a check here, no.

They wouldn't cash it unless I paid $7.00. You gotta be kidding.

I told the teller I wanted to know if there was funds to cover the check. She looked it up and said yes.

I left and deposited it in my credit union account.

I had several errands this morning and returned an hour ago.

Thank you for your update. I am happy that funds were available. Take care.

I want to thank the many posters who reponded and offered advice, it was much appreciated, and thank you. And yes, it was a very long thread.

A poster wanted to know what kind of business I had.

For 15 years owned a private business, I arranged and designed itineraries for individuals. I didn't work through an agency.

Domestic and international. It was very detailed and my clientele and work was very gratifying.

I had a few famous clients, mostly in Silicon Valley. Some were European clients, my favorite though, were people just like us, you and me.

Before that I sold property in Texas through my broker in San Mateo.

As a few suggested, I am not a doormat.

I had a few bad checks in business and knew how to check if there was sufficient  funds in their accounts.

I'm glad neighbor had sufficient funds. I'm not happy she didn't do as I requested.

She did text twice this morning apologizing, I accepted her apology and that was that.

There won't be anymore communication between us.
Thank you to the many posters who offered advice.

I'm so glad it worked out for you and I'm glad your neighbor is aware of the issue she caused.  Merry Christmas!  đźŽ„

As others have said,it seems to be a pattern where a poster asks for advice and then never lets us know the outcome. I'm sorry if you feel insulted.

YAY! Glad to hear you got your funds... the second shopping trip funds, anyway. This neighbor can apologize all she wants now but she has already shown her true colors. Be done with her for good.

I will add I do think many of us reading your initial post thought maybe the neighbor was elderly, could not drive, needed assistance, etc. If that had been the case it would have been more understandable. But then to hear that in addition to being fully capable of driving herself she then stiffed you for the first shopping trip really threw us for a loop. I will speak for myself....me no likey her!!!!!

Take good care, @Alsace Gal.
