Hi, @Wsmom! Sorry for the late reply, I only just got home from work.

My sister lives in Massachusetts.

I can so understand that you'd want a safe and happy place where your daughter can thrive, & wish it was easier for all parents in similar situations to find great placements.

It's terrific that your daughter is happy at home, @Wsmom  but I do think you're wise to have an eye towards the future.

Maybe dip your toe in and make a few phone calls to see what your options are.

I truly wish you the best of luck. Heart

Thanks, @sabatini !

I thought you posted you have a son that you live with? If he has plans could you just celebrate a different day @katie1859 ?

@Trinity11  Her son is an autistic adult. Read between the lines.

When I replied I had no idea @Cakers3 . She also stated she has other children which I had no idea either. I don't need your help on how to post, thank you very much. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

@katie1859 I'm sorry you are feeling this way.

Holidays have always been so hyped up as it is and not having the same celebrations as others can feel as though one just doesn't belong.

There are posters here to talk with and I know it is not the same but people do care.

Re: Alone And By Yourself

I, too, am part of this live-alone group more than 30 yrs now, except I am fortunate to have 2 great companions, a Norwegian Forest cat named Maxwell Fergus and a small brown tabby named Angus Duncan. I love living alone, am not lonely with these 2 guys!  Have always had a cat(s), cannot live without.

@luvmyteddy4

Such a sorrowful story hearing  this.

How fortunate it must have been for her to have a true friend like you who cared. I hope you are able to find others who are understanding and kind, if that is what you wish.

Sending good thoughts your way.

Re: Alone And By Yourself

We have a daughter who has taken over Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's not a big group but  our two grandsons, their wives, and 2 great grandchildren will be there.

I have never been alone on the holidays and my husband is still with me but should that day come when and if I am ever alone, I would like to think, if I was well enough, I would have someone over to celebrate with me who might be alone, too. Hey, even if it's just a Turkey pie or tv dinner! I need people!
