Today is the starting of a new work week and I'm just not feeling it.I have never ever called in sick because of NOT FEELING IT,butI must say,it is very tempting.Thankfully I only work 1 job today,so I will plunge thru it!

Hope everyone gets thru this Monday

Don't miss those days. I always hated going back to work on Mondays. Good luck.

I retired after 45 years 10 years ago and must say there is nothing that I miss about. I agree, Mon. was always the worst.

We all need a mental health day sometimes, not because we’re falling apart, but because we’re wise enough to pause before we do. Take it if you need it.

@Luvsmyfam

Working two jobs or going to school while working takes a lot of stamina.  It can wear one's spirit down, so how to not let it bother you so much ?

When I was working a 5-day work week, I used to get so depressed on Sunday nights thinking about Monday.  Some things I did to keep things going:  brought in surprise goodies for my team at an impromptu group meeting ( all programmers ); had a special lunch with a friend pre-arranged; and often had something special to look forward to on Monday evening ( movie, quick shopping trip, small painting project, etc. ).

Sometimes, all I could do was just get home and bury myself in a book or go to sleep.

When I semi-retired and became a consultant, I didn't have the same pressures so there would be days when my work didn't begin until Tuesday or I was able to take Wednesdays off and work Mon-Tues and Thur-Fri.  The day off in the middle really made a difference for me.

Then life intruded: my parents developed dementia ( Mom for 8 years and Dad for half-year ) and as the eldest, I had my hands full during and after that time with selling their house and estate settlement and its aftermath.

Best advice, if you have to work two jobs, schedule things to pamper yourself and make life easier.  Whatever makes you relax and recharge your spirits should be sacrosanct part of your life.

Life is short...do what is important to you to keep your sanity and physical health.

I retired too and Mondays were the worst. I remember Sunday nights just having anxiety about the work week 🤦🏻‍♀️ and couldn’t get to sleep. I’m so grateful that I retired with a great pension.

@Luvsmyfam  One of the employers I used to work for called it a "mental health day" and it was perfectly ok to call in sick.
