happened to me yesterday.

I am switching schools, and so I need to get a new I.D. badge to reflect my new school. I was told that I had to go in person to the Board of Education (which is about as efficient as going to the DMV/MVA for a license), even if I were going to keep the same photo. I found a live HUMAN who answered the phone, who said she would MAIL the new I.D. badge to my new school. No getting gussied up, driving a half hour, standing in line, etc.

I have been waiting on a package from Bloomingdale's. It was one of those ship UPS and finish with USPS- Surepost. The tracking stalled as of July 10, and there are no updates. The item (on sale) is now sold out. I called CS, spoke with another live HUMAN, and she is having one shipped from a store, with EXPEDITED shipping. She thinks it is lost, and so she refunded my $ to my CC. I asked what happens if this turns up, using the Pony Express? She said I could keep it, or send it back and they would again credit the account. What outstanding CS!

I went to the gym in the morning and came home and made the most AMAZING (to me) lunch. I try to eat the rainbow daily, and this just about checked off all of my boxes. It is not vegan, but I'm sure that @sidsmom can appreciate at least 75% of it.

2. Experienced lovely wedding celebration.

3. Booked a trip to Bora Bora!!! For my 60th Birthday.

My son got married on June 16 and now I have a beautiful dil.We are on vacation and the weather is spectacular.Yesterday I watched otters climb the ladder to our dock and saw three eagles soaring around.One eagle flew low over my head.The third best thing would have to be my friends are all here on vacation too so it is really enjoyable to visit with them all.We share a large piece of property that was once a motel but now is our own private recreation spot on the lake surrounded by mountains.

1- Attended a class reunion a week ago that was so enjoyable. Great catching up with people I hadn’t seen in years.

2- DH gave me a new car for my birthday a few weeks ago.

3- My son got a promotion at work. I realize that didn’t happen to me, but inadvertently it did; Anything that happens to make my son happy makes me ecstatic!

We got a new neighbor in the other half of our duplex. The previous owner passed away a year and a half ago so the house has been empty. We've been anxious about who was going to buy over there. The new owner is a very nice gentleman and his wife and daughter.We have only met the man so far, as the wife is still not retired. I'm sure we'll meet her soon.

We had to get a new AC unit and a new hot water heater. All are installed and working beautifully. I don't think we realized how badly our old heat pump & hot water heaters were doing. We are so much more comfortable now and while we had gotten used to only moderately hot water - we now have hot hot water. The dishes get sparkling clean in the DW now. I think these things go bad gradually and you don't realize your not getting the full service from them til you put in a new one.

It is summer so it's off season in Florida. We used to go north for the summer but last year we sold our place up there and are spending the summer at home.It is so pleasant to go into stores and restaurants and no crowds. To not have heavy traffic no matter where you go. To go to the pool and it's not jammed with people.Just so very pleasant to not have the crowds.I know the local merchants make a lot of money from the snowbirds but I now understand why the locals who stay here all year so dislike the Jan thru april crowds.

1. I have eye infection both eyes...the good news was that there was an after hours eye doc on call who called in the steroid eye drop Rx I should have taken with me when I was there the day before. ( we thought I could take DH’s eyedrops since he was over the infection. Doc said there was an unbelievable # of cases he has seen in last two weeks ! )

2. Washing machine repairman just left: a new belt and pump and my old Maytag will live another 20 years, lol....I hope I do !

3. Am being taken to lunch next week by the two head managers of the local Amer. Red Cross to follow up on the corrective steps taken to prevent host of issues I had reported on my last blood donation. No telephone menus, no glossing over situations, just honest conversation with human beings who really care about their passion...saving lives through blood donations.

Very thankful for all the small, simple gifts in life !!!
