Looking for an old cake recipe...

A homemade chocolate cake with a thick, chocolate fudge-like icing on top. A friend of my mom's used to make it and unfortunately she can no longer remember her recipe. I have no idea if this is a common recipe or one she came up with on her own. I would love it if anyone knows of a recipe that is similar.
