Thank you, everyone!

I am most appreciative of these suggestions!

My husband and I will be outside working together and he does not get even one bite!

Me --- I get attacked by everything in sight!!!!

DD is the same way and every bite she gets is the size of a quarter, LOL!

Oh, yeah. Sometimes, I get worse than that.  It's terrible.  The older I get the worse they bother me.  I love the warm weather but HATE those darn bugs!!!!

Thanks for the ideas. All the sudden I have become very sensitive to insect bits. Last 2 years I have gotten infections leading to mild cellulitis requiring antibiotics. If you get a bite, you think of something to stop the itch but also apply a topical antiobiotic such as neosporin.

A dab of ammonia (q-tip) applied on an itchy insect bite will take away the itch instantly and help reduce any swelling caused by the bite.

Essential oils should work...Helichrysum worked for me in the house when I was trying to read (iPad) and a small gnat wanted to seek the light.

EOs that bugs and spiders don't like include:

-citronella

-peppermint

-cedar

-geranium

I would not use these directly on skin. But they can be diluted with carrier oils so that they can be.
