Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox - you can't pass on shingles but you can give someone chicken pox.

Only if they come in contact by their nose or mouth.

The same way you always wash them. Shingles isn't contagious.

I had shingles and do your laundry just like normal. I kept mine covered and didn't touch them. My family never had any issues from me having them.

If it happened to me, I'd toss them just to be safe. As well the PJs or other bed clothing.

Totally unnecessary waste to toss the sheets out!

No special procedures are required to clean and decontaminate bed linens used by someone with herpes zoster. Linens can be washed normally.

Exactly....I had chicken pox in my thirties..... There are no longer that many people who have NOT had Chicken Pox, what with the vaccine now.... At least shingles is not contagious in the prodromal stage, like chickenpox....
