Hello incredibly smart, savvy and helpful posters! Was wondering if you had any thoughts and/or input regarding the following... We purchased a Coach bag and wallet at one of their outlet stores as Christmas gifts for someone. The purse is the Ashley leather satchel in vermilion. We had concerns that the receiver wouldn't connect with the color, but gave it a try. She did not, so we are going to return it. (She loved the bag, just not the color and is not crazy about other color options in that style.)

Questions:

It looks like there may be ways to tell if a bag is one created just for the Coach outlet stores by the sku...any thoughts about their outlet bags? (We thinking about purchasing the replacement at a regular store. We didn't realize there might be concerns about an outlet purchase until discussions after the purchase, so think we may feel better just getting a more expensive one at the reg. store.)

This is for a more conservative (we made sure to check the vermilion bag with navy -the color we were looking for in a bag originally -prior to the purchase thinking many of her outfits are in that color family), mature, smaller wonderful lady who we thought might need a smaller bag. She has told us she is open to larger bags now, so that helps, but others have since told us that Dooney may be a better line for her. Any thoughts about Dooney vs. Coach? (In quality, use, etc.?)

We have since found other possibilities at the Coach store (in the Legacy, Willis and Madison lines to start) and are looking at Dooney, but just wondered if those with experience with these lines had any thoughts they would share?
