Dooney Florentine Medium Toggle

I bought the medium toggle in plum some time ago and just took it out of the closet to wear. Very comfortable as a cross body bag and holds a lot of stuff. But when I took it out of the sleeper bag I noticed several deep scratches that hadn't been there when I bought the bag. {#emotions_dlg.scared} I've tried to make the scratches less noticeable.... rubbing with a cloth, even pledge (as someone recommended). So far, no luck, scratches are still there and very visible (white) against the deep plum. If the handbag were black, I'd use a sharpee to disguise them. But I don't have any hope of matching the color of the plum leather.

Anyone have any ideas?
