I tell you what... I have purchased handbags more expensive than that, but I would NOT off a Shopping Channel. I do not want someone else's return shipped to me, I want the Sales Associate to concentrate on ME and what I'm choosing. I want to handle it, look at the interior and try it on.

Once, the SA encouraged me to load up everything I own into the handbag I was assessing. He was attentive, kind and made sure my purchase was brand new, wrapped beautifully and placed in a gorgeous (reusable) shopping bag with handles.

THAT's what's expected from a customer if you spend that kind of money on a handbag!

AND, her "it" was a Knock Off because **The Real IT** (according to Jill) costs over $3000 !... Did it occur to you that you're SAVING NOTHING ! Jill was doing her CHA-CHING in her brain, while running her mouth. I trust that you know that she has that Jersey Shore House to finish decorating and that SALES/commissions are her bread & butter.

I really find it hard to believe that anyone who watches a Shopping Channel "thinks" that they are actually saving anything ! One word comes to mind -- GULLIBLE.

I'm afraid it's apples and oranges. It may have been inspired by a bag that's over $3k, but the workmanship, materials and actual design can not possibly match the authentic $3k bag. It's like the counterfeits out there mimicking Louis Vuitton. Even the extremely good copies do not have the same materials no matter how hard they try and some can cost $500 or more!! They are (even in my opinion and I can't stand fakes) very good at coming close to the look of the item but are no where the same (I've handled both) in workmanship and materials .... therefore you are paying for a $500 copy of a $3k bag. It's not a markdown of an authentic $3k bag marked down to $500.... it's a $500 copy. Period. No savings between a $500 copy and a $3k real thing.

It comes down to whether or not the buyer thinks that the GILI $600+ bag is worth it in materials and workmanship. If it is, then it's worth it to the buyer.

GILI is definitely overpriced. I find better things at Kohls at a fraction of the cost.
