1 egg white

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup chopped walnuts

1 pint Coffee ice cream

1 pint Vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Beat egg white with salt until stiff, but not dry.

Gradually beat in sugar. Fold in walnuts.

Turn into well buttered 9 inch pie plate.

With spoon, spread evenly on bottom and sides of pan, but NOT on rim.

Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

Cool and chill.

Fill with layer of both ice creams.

Wrap with Saran Wrap and freeze until ready to serve.

SERVE WITH THE FOLLOWING CARMEL SAUCE.

3 Tbsp butter

1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

1/2 cup Half & Half

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

1 tsp vanilla

Melt butter in small saucepan.

Add brown sugar AND REMOVE FROM HEAT.

VERY SLOWLY STIR IN HALF & HALF. HEAT 1 MINUTE LONGER.

Remove from heat.

Stir in walnuts and vanilla.

Serve at room temperature over pie.
