Re: Boiling eggs for deviled eggs

@Carmie Are you talking about pickled eggs that are done in pickled beet juice?   I love those.

Re: Boiling eggs for deviled eggs

@Sooner   Yes, I always call them pickled eggs too, but found a lot of people don't understand that term.

I made both pickled and deviled and the pickled were all eaten first.

My husband finished off what was left of the deviled eggs this morning.

He's already bugging me to make more.

@ECBG

I tried this yesterday when for the first time I made deviled eggs.

I made one slight change i.e. no ice water, just ran cold water in the hot pan with the eggs still in it and left them in the cold water for about 7 minutes plus or minus..

Yes, imagine my surprise when I rolled them and the shell peeled right off.

Re: Boiling eggs for deviled eggs

I'm having a few health issues, one is muscle loss. I need a ton of protein and eggs would be ideal. I also need quick, no fuss items to reach for....  1 or 2 hard boiled eggs each day would make me not think about what I need to prepare and just grab something.(sometimes I'm just too tired)

The problem is I don't cook them, or store them because we really dislike the smell which stays in our house all day, even days after.

Is there a way to prevent or tamper the smell while cooking and being stored in the fridge?
