I own 2 turlenecks from many years ago, before they were even called posh knits, and have always machine washed with cold water.  They still look great.

The newer posh knits are pretty much all donated with the exception of one cardi which will go to goodwill in a couple of week.  I babied them and hand washed but they all pilled very badly no matter what I did.  I got tired of shaving them after each wearing.   I suspect this is why they have been discontinued.
