Defective TSV Pressure Cooker, Anyone Else?

I am so disappointed. My Techniques TSV Pressure Cooker just arrived yesterday and while I was using it for its first run with water, it fried the control panel. CS was great and is sending someone to pick it up on Monday, but darn, I had the meat thawing to make a big batch of chili tomorrow. Anyone else have a similar problem? I hope mine was just fluke as I asked them to send me a replacement.
