Cuinsart Food Proc. Question

I just bought the new Elite Cuisinart Food Processor and just have a question about the reversible shredder Disc....one side say "fine", the other side says "medium". eg., in order to use the fine part, does the disc go face down or face up? I should know this by testing it but when I did some cheese, it looked very similar so I found it hard to tell which side I was using. TIA!!!!!!!!!
