Crockpot Question

I am going to be cooking something in my Crockpot that requires a fair amount of prep time (including browning meat). I am wondering if I can do that prep work the night before and then cook it in the Crockpot the next morning? If so do you add cooking time and how much? I'm short on time the day I want to cook it.
