Where can you find heavier "lifetime" gold pieces, especially chains?

After reading some of the recent posts I agree with no more silicon filled pieces. And, like others have said I don't regret my older quality gold purchases. I still have them. I was looking for a new gold chain that will last. I want it to be solid and not 1.2 grams for an 18 inch chain (that's dental floss). I have a 14kt wheat chain I purchased in the mid 90's. It is solid and it is my "workhorse" pendant chain. It's almost 3mm so it holds smaller pendants but since it is solid it can hold heavy pieces too. I was hoping to find something similar but in a different style chain. I have looked and can't find such a piece. I'm willing to pay for something that will last. Any ideas?
