Opals?

I am interested in purchasing an opal ring in 14k gold. I have been reading about them and the more I read, the more confused I get. There are ones from Australia, Ethiopia and Mexico. I really am getting to like the Ethiopian ones . Can anyone give me ideas as to which ones have fire in them and price ranges? Thanks for any help you can give me.
