Replacing carpets

My carpet in the family room is in horrible shape and I am thinking about something other than carpet. I have two dogs, gettin older and they have accidents occasionally - one of the reasons for the carpet replacement. I need advice on what kind of floor. And that is easy to keep clean and that "doggy" accidents don't ruin the finish. thanks for any help

I have laminate......guaranteed 50 years for ""residential use"". All you do is dust it.

I'd go with the new wood-look vinyl planks. Vinyl is the most indestructible of floor coverings and this stuff is almost indistinguishable from hardwood.
