New washer & gas tumble dryer advice

Ladies,i am doing my homework with a view to buying a top loading washer and a gas dryer, and if anybody can give me input on which brand is really reliable, large capacity,ease of use,i would love some advice,thanks so much. (Am thinking Sears Kenmore??)
